Yes, that length of characters should be visible. I have had my sleeve for a few months now. It normally shows 7-8 characters through the opening depending on how taut you have the sleeve. It may not show that many when you first get the sleeve because it needs time to stretch out, but be patient. Any characters beyond 8 can't be seen through the opening, but you can still kind of read them because the sleeve is not 100% opaque. I do wish the opening was bigger, though, because I have more than 8 characters engraved!
