Great quality and a lot of fun. Hold up great to 9 and 45. Just be mindful when you're building it about how tall it is. I used a full 6 foot 2x4 and it's a little to tall for my back drop

These are great. Very satisfying.

This is a great affordable alternative to buying an all-steel shooting tree. Other than rimfire ones, a quality tree will typically run between $400-800. I can’t imagine an easier to setup and better value for your money. The downside is I didn’t receive any instructions. This isn’t exactly like building a rocket but it would still have been nice to have a reference sheet. All you need is a drill and 2 wrenches/ratchet or either combination and you’ll be able to put it together in under 10 minutes without much fuss. I believe the two sizes needed will be 3/4 and 1/2 inch My recommendation is to keep it to a maximum of four per setup. It’s not that you can’t put more on a 2x4 but you’ll run into the wood issue on deflections/misses chipping away over the life of it. Plus there’ll be stability problems with wobbling if you go too tall. Eventually you’ll have to replace your 2x4 and it’s better to make less work for yourself. If you’re a competitive shooter or plan to be then save and invest in a better quality tree. Buy one on a holiday sale when the time comes. This won’t cut it for you.

Work just as they should. Been shooting them with 5.56 and 7.62x39. Easy set up with the 2x4. Used about 500 rounds on them so far.

This is a very sturdy set. I bought four pairs so I could have eight paddles total. I built a wooden stand for them, and luckily had the forethought to add some steel to the lower diagonal braces where the bottom paddle is close; otherwise those wood braces would have been gone. One word of advice is to either not use treated lumber if it's still wet at all, or if you do then sand down one side and all corners. The treated lumber swells while still wet/damp and doesn't ever completely return to the same size as it's untreated counterparts. I only did the sanding after spending half an hour hammering the first brace all the way down from top to bottom. After sufficient sanding they all went on smoothly. The tree works great for anything 9mm or over. Won't work for 22 longs or anything similar. The paddles and guards do stand up to .40, .357 Sig, Colt 45, .357 Magnum, etc. but I would not use it for any substantial rifles.
