Laogan ma Crispy Chilli in Oil 700g

I purchase this quite often. It goes so well with a lot of different kinds of food, I put it on everything. I love the crunchy texture it has. It has a kick to it but it’s not too spicy, I’d say medium heat . Comes in a large jar so no leaking. Definitely worth the cost.

This is brilliant stuff. Chicken, rice, garlic and ginger in a rice cooker with some greens and soy sauce - serve it up with this on top and a few sprinkled spring onions. Perfect lunch.

Hot and crunchy. A little goes a very long way. This is sweet and was not expecting this.

I got hooked on this product when I got introduced to it. I am sure it is not just the monosodium glutamate content of it 🙂. The chilly is crispy and it is mixed with fried onions and soya beans. I use them in almost every meal- just watch the salt content as this is high. Great with eggs, stir fries and it even makes a quick salad dressing with a bit of added olive oil or yogurt.

I love this stuff! I previously purchased the smaller jar of this brand chilli oil and quickly used it up, making chilli scrambled eggs and a lovely dip for some pork dumplings. Soooo.... I decided that my kitchen deserved to be well-stocked with a jumbo jar, for my future culinary experiments and quick fixes! The jar itself is very chunky and thick (quite heavy in the hand) and opens easily, both when it first arrives and between uses. I wasn't sure at first whether I had bought the right sort of chilli oil, as it comes literally stuffed to the brim with chillis, but after some research, I found that there are two types - one where it's pretty much the oil, with a little chilli, and the other being this one. This suits me actually, as I just keep topping it up with oil as I go, if I find that I'm after something with a higher ratio of oil. Either that, or I use another base oil, before adding the solid chilli mixture from this jar. Anyway, the chillis have a lovely crunchiness to them and the flavour is delightful. You get a lot for your money and because of all of these positives, I can highly recommend this product - 5 Stars all the way! :)

My fave by far

This stuff is like the cocaine of the food word! I can't get enough of it.. Be warned, you will be eating it on everything! My only issue is that it is advertised as 700g but what you get is in fact 670g!

Ottimo, da avere per gli amanti del piccante (ma non esagerato). Al primo assaggio gusto particolare non perfettamente gradito, dopo un paio di volte diventato una "droga", messo ovunque. Finito in "tempo record"

Une excellente surprise, produit tout aussi surprenant que goûtu, c'est fort, ça pique mais ça arrache pas à la mort, c'est juste puissant. Et je ne suis pas coutumier des produits épicés. C'est surprenant le côté grillé mais c'est intéressant en texture une fois mélangé. De temps en temps on tombe sur une fève de soja grillé, c'est délicieux 😚
