I teach English as a second language to newcomers to Canada. The teacher's book is an excellent companion for the student's book called Basic Tactics for Listening 3rd edition by Jack C Richards with Grant Trew. It contains all of the transcripts to the listening passages along with supporting exercises, etc. This is appropriate for high beginner to low intermediate English fluency levels. The material is fairly current despite the 2010 publication. Rather than CDs that once accompanied the set, which are hard to find now, Oxford University Press offers the audio content online free. I first gave this item a 2 star rating because It did not include all of the audio in the downloadable archive. However, after speaking with support and perhaps a month later, they finally realized that it was an error on their side. They have since updated the download archive to include all of the audio files. In addition, I have used this with my A2-Elementary students, and it has been extremely helpful. The language and vocabulary is extremely useful. My students really enjoy it.
