Very effective and easy to use. I bought soil from a big box store, which led to a bad fungus gnat problem, and these traps have been great for keeping the population under control. They are simple, but they work really well.The bright yellow color attracts the gnats, and the sticky surface catches them without needing sprays or chemicals. I like that they are safe to use around indoor plants and don't add any smell or mess. They won't fix the source of an infestation by themselves, but they are a great tool for reducing the adult population while you deal with the underlying issue.

Lotta things got stuck on these. Gross, but effective.

Look I’m not going to show you how many buggies stuck onto this because it is downright disgusting. It is sticky for sure. Still, note these two things:1. It does not attract the bigger black flies, but gnats and fruit flies love it.2. This does not solve the root of your problem. The eggs of those little guys hatch quickly and are still in the soil. More and more will keep coming and it just gets to be an eye sore in your plant bc not all will fly into it, no matter how many come. It looks pretty gross in a house plant. You’ll have hundred of bugs stuck to this thing and still eggs will keep getting laid and obviously hatching.From a little online research, I read you must put a bunch of small rocks or pebbles on top of the soil and smother the soil so the eggs will die and no more can be laid. That, paired with this sticky guy should do the trick. You’re going to need the rocks. I tried it with the rocks and finally had success.

I’m pleasantly surprised. This is one of those necessities you’re obligated to invest in… and then you get that little “surprise” upon arrival that makes this grossness of this seem SO much better! Or, maybe I’m just easily amused by the little things- you decide.These work fantastic! There is no question if they are durable or sticky enough. They hold up VERY well. Solid, sturdy but also so thin they’re light & easily placed. I have a serious fruit fly issue- these have been SO much easier & better than the cup of vinegar trap. They have no scent, which is great, and can be placed almost anywhere. The dual-adhesive aspect, I can stick it to a surface & the opposite side still traps. But, you can see from my photos they work well placed as meant/directed in potted plants, as well as in my banana bunch on the counter or salt lamp which also both seem to be a magnet!The price point here is great for what you get. A very decent quantity (more than a month’s supply depending on the severity of the issue or amount of space you need to cover) and the variety of shapes make it a bit of fun. The adhesive papers are easy to remove, holding the base grip that is specifically meant to function as a dirt spear- but, I found folding it into a platform for surface areas is a fantastic solution, too! The base will bend & stay firm to support a “flag post” position.I’ve had no problem w/ the buggers attracting to these bright spots in lieu of my fruit or plants! Swap em’ out when they’re caked full if you can stomach it that long- or they’re so easily replaceable you can toss them on the daily.My most favorite part aside from doing the legit job expected- I just adore the mini shovel included to help “plant” them in your potted soil! Too cute & fun- especially if you have a younger one assisting.I’ll be purchasing more. They work much better than anything else I’ve tried & don’t have a massive chemical presence like many pest control products come with. I was slightly worried having a long hair cat would mean they’d attract the hair or possibly get stuck to her if she came too close in contact- not an issue whatsoever! Literally, the only downfall to these is the fact they collect flies & sit there until you have to manually dispose of the trap. Small sacrifice for big, GOOD impact on your precious livelihood in living quarters.

I have bought lots of these types of products in the past, so I may be a little extra critical. These work just as well as any and come with all the extras I like (the green sticks to stick them in the dirt are my favorite). I like that they don't have the triangle under the shape - that never works for sticking it in the dirt and look silly if you would rather hang them. The little shovel is worthless and they should save the plastic.I bought this set because my previous favorites are no longer available and these seemed to be the closest thing. What makes them not as good - the paper is MUCH harder to get off these! I hate fighting with them and getting them stuck to my fingers. The shapes aren't as cute as those I've had before. The mushroom and bird are fine, the bug and butterfly are from a strange angle and look weird.OK, but I'll look for something else next time.

These things work!!!! See attached photos of proof….this was over about three hours….and we’re not seeing anything flying around now! Once the lemons have aged out, I just slice them into quarter pieces and toss into the garbage disposal and grind them up which keeps the disposal always emitting a nice “lemony fresh” smell!! Cheers!

Worked well to get rid of the fruit flies

I have purchased this product 3 times . It is extremely effective to reduce fungus gnats and any other flies that get attached it grow / hatch in the organic materials used in gardening. Just that the peel off can be made more easy as it does not always come off in one go. Also an extn on top which is non sticky to hold it and push into soil will be great . Holding the non sticky base does not always work as it gets inserted into the soil and sometimes the whole thing may get stuck to a finger or hand when trying to push the base and also avoid it coming in contact with fingers or back if palm and then it removes / reduces the glue when trying to pull it off to re- insert again. A little attention to these mfg details will take it notches higher.

Works exactually as described and has helped keep the fruit flies under control.
