Does not pair with Sonic Boom Alarm Clock
Picks up baby cry! However, the signal is never received by the Sonic Boom Alarm Clock. Do not recommend

Terrific alarm if you don't want to be woken up by sound!
First...remember you need to have the strobe light with this.......I purchased this as a gift for our daughter (who is hearing impaired) and son-in-law (who isn't hearing impaired) after the birth of their twin daughters. They already had a visual monitor/sound alarm which I didn't particularly care for as it amplified the babies when they woke up to a point where you could hear them next door. Plus, unless it was on full force, our daughter needed to wear her hearing aids to hear the babies when they woke up...which woke the entire household. The strobe light is silent and definitely bright enough to wake someone who doesn't hear. It also was bright enough to wake our son-in-law who could sleep through the visual/sound alarm. I used it, too, on occasions that I volunteered to help in the night. While the strobe is bright and turned the bedroom into a disco ball, it was silent, and definitely served the purpose it was purchased for.

It works a lot
This item picks up noises and transmits quickly to its specific receiver. It picks up any noise, which is good and bad. Getting it set up to alert on a specific noise and not others is not possible. You can use the sensitivity control and placement in the room to try and be selective.

This is a life saver for me being hearing impaired, especially when my husband isn't home and I happen to be sleeping. I have one in my 2 year olds room and one in my 4 month olds room. They both work to my sonic boom alarm, then I check the video monitor (separate company) to see who is crying.
