Candles for UCO Candle Lanterns, Long-Burning Candles for Outdoor, Camping, Prepping Supplies and Emergency Preparedness

I was waiting for a price drop and found the original company selling exactly what I needed. Not some random brand selling refills for twice the cost. The value and longevity go hand in hand. I use it for trapping in the dark and camping. It has never failed me yet. It's a very slow burning candle when in the ocu lantern with no mess. When or if you need to clean the lantern the wax easily chips off. I will have to try the beeswax and bug repellent next. This is the 2nd time buying the regular uco from Amazon because it was cheaper then rei. The candles might seem small but they really do last. Just burning it for a few hrs a night, 2 candles lasted me over 11 days.

These candles burn longer than the 9 hours specified. They burn clean, no smoke. They work great in my candle lantern, take the chill away, and helps keep down the condensation in my trailer when camping. I can heat a tin coffee mug of water on the top of the lantern to make my first cup of coffee in the morning,or hot chocolate in the evening. I've been using the candolier lantern and these candles for about 15 years! Won't go camping without them! Check out the UCO candelier lantern. Awesome little lantern to use with these candles.

I've used many candle based lanterns, UCO is more ideal for models that use a single or triple candle design. Wax quality seems to be okay, yet the wick seems to have changed for some odd reason as I've seen others who hike with them to say the same issue happens "the wick seems to fold onto itself and you're stuck waiting until everything cools off to trim it". If you have a larger UCO model that uses three of these its less of a problem but a single candle model you're left in the dark or using a spare lantern. On the candles that had the wick flopping into the wax, there wasn't any air movement or wind to do it and run time dropped by up to an hour. Overall great for triple candle lantern models.

What can I say, im old school and love candles/lanterns. Nice little combo with uco lantern. Packs extremely small and complements my flashlights well. Even though I get some pretty impressive runtimes, having a candle for hour long useage is nice. I got these for my single light lantern to throw in my backpack, but living in Florida means frequent power outages. Growing up we had oil/kerosene lamps.....what beautiful light. Dangerous though, many houses burned over the years. The glass in the uco products gives that flame protection im used to = longer burn times, but in a safer format. Id put these in the 3 candle lantern for home use. Inside the glass may seem not to be as needed, but uco's spring loaded system is genius for maximizing burn times and keeping wax off the carpet/table etc.

Bought these for a friend of mine who lives YEAR ROUND in a cabin in the woods that she built herself!! She lives without electricity, plumbing, etc. Truly roughing it! (Me? I'm a big city girl, LOL) In a thank you note she later wrote, she told me that when she received these from me this past Christmas (2014), she thought, oh yeah, sure....nine hours. Wellllll, to her surprise (and mine) she said they last much longer!!! Ten to 12 hours!!! WOW!!! So yes, I'm thrilled with this purchase. Great gift for the cabin owner!

These candles are the best I have found and work wonderfully in the UCO candle lanterns. They are an easy burn and last quite awhile. They are so good you really don't need to trim them much if you use them multiple times (rather than one long burn). They also burn very evenly which is a must! They are shipped directly from UCO and and are well made. Can't say one bad thing about them.

These are the factory replacements for use in the Candle Lantern which is a great product. They have a long burn time when used in the lantern. To extend burn time I keep the wick trimmed when needed. I keep my extra candles in the box or carry in a plastic bag which I found to be important since I had one melt into the fabric of my backpack, after it sat in a closed up car in the summer heat.

They're candles. They light. They burn. They fit into the UCO lantern. Three star rating because they're just candles, after all

Ich hab versucht mit alternativen Kerzen als den originalen Ersatzkerzen billiger weg zu kommen, aber es funktioniert nicht gut und lohnt nicht. Ich hab normale Stabkerzen der gleichen Stärke besorgt und auf die Länge gekürzt, aber die die ich probiert habe, haben alle zu starke Dochte gehabt. Dadurch entsteht eine zu große Flamme. Es rußt sehr stark und es schmilzt auch zu viel Wachs und läuft über. Resümee: Die originalen Kerzen sind perfekt abgestimmt, sehr hell, rußen nicht und halten sehr lange. Sie sind also durchaus ihr Geld wert, auch wenn 3Stk für 10€ schon ganz schön heftig sind. Also 5* für die Qualität und 3 für den Preis.

Good candles that work for prolonged periods of time, as candle go that is. I’ve gotten up to 8 hours out of these. Others get longer so I wonder if things like altitude and humidity have an effect on how long they last. Point is that they last a long time, longer them most without the scents (stink) that most candle makers add these days. It’s bad enough that the power is out but then to suffer through the chemical stink, no thanks. While these do not have a scent I still feel bees wax candles are better, if you have to inhale any kind of petroleum product it’s not good for you and bees wax provides a natural soothing scent. That said they don’t last as long. I can justify having on in the BOB because they are light enough individually. For camping, we have little glass lanterns that we picked up at a foreign big box store years ago that these fit into nicely. The lanterns actually allow them to burn a little longer as there’s no wind blowing the flame around. Heat wise I can’t say that I have noticed them burning any hotter than another candle which uses the same size wick.

Unlike some reviewers I'm rating and reviewing the actual product listed, namely genuine UCO candles! I purchased from Amazon directly and they shipped me genuine product as one would expect. These are the regular, unscented paraffin wax candles supplied by UCO in a box of three. They are correctly sized for their lantern and work exactly as advertised. If you prefer you can order a citronella scented version to ward off insects, or a natural beeswax option that burns for considerably longer and avoids the potential respiratory health issue of petrochemical soot from a paraffin candle. They are, however, a lot more expensive! There isn't a great deal more to say, except that if you purchase from a third party marketplace seller you may well be sent a non UCO generic alternative, but that's a reflection on the seller, not the UCO candles which we are supposed to be rating here. In these days of ubiquitous and long lasting LED lights, candle lanterns are used far less frequently. But I for one enjoy the ambiance of a flame, and the citronella deters insects too as a bonus. A candle is useful in survival situations too, which is why they frequently appear in survival kits. Old school has it's benefits. Five stars from me. Keep up the good work, UCO.
