Will this work on metal? I want to paint an outside door lock that does not respond to brass polish.

I used it for a metal purse clasp. The paint chipped off after regular use.

what do you seal this with?

Since I usually use this product as a finishing touch I don't always seal it...but have used sifted on clear sealer used for stamping..sifted on with fine enamel sifter and heated to (circa) 300 degrees...as I do to seal my PolyShrink jewelry and make a shiny surface.

Will this write on dark paper ? Will the writing be clean and without smudges on either side of paper ?

Yes, it should show up against a dark surface, but is not completely opaque, so you might need more than one coat if you want it really bright. It probably does bleed through thin papers, although I have only used it on watercolor paper or on canvas.

can you use this on wood furniture?

I have not use it on furniture, but it seems to be very adaptable to many surfaces, and I think it would work on furniture, thank you,
