MEEDEN Artist Wooden Drafting Stool: Adjustable Height Art Stool for Studio

I love this little adjustable stool. I use it at my make-up table. It works in a tiny space and is a beautiful wood tone. It was easy to assemble.

Easy to put together. Good looking and well made. I like the adjustable height for different tasks. Using it in the kitchen and at a table for large projects.

First semi-comfortable seat I could find for drafting, or for doing almost anything else from a sitting position, since it's flat, sturdy, and height-adjustable. The first one started wobbling after about a year of daily use. The wobbling began where the central metal rod had been fused to the circular metal plate as one piece. Fortunately--after I'd gotten another of these stools in the beech color and then read the enclosed Meeden product warranty--their customer service team responded to my e-mail within a few days. The agent was friendly and accommodating, offering a whole new stool when the replacement part I'd needed wasn't available. It came within a week of my confirming that I wanted it. The photos show the broken walnut stool being used as a coffee table and footrest (not sure if I'll end up keeping it for that or not), the newer beech stool, and the replacement walnut stool with the lifetime warranty. I wish there were also a version of this with height-adjustable armrests and a 90-degree, upright backrest. This minimal stool is useful for many things, though, and can fit into narrow spaces thanks to the tripod-style legs.

Easy to assemble, but because of the narrow width of the legs it will probably not support someone heavier. I’m 175 lbs , fit but feel it will break soon. The top of the chair scratched already from just assembling process. It looks really nice but the narrow base makes you at risk of tipping over. It’s really smaller than what you see in the picture UPDATE: My employee weighing a measly 95 lbs just told me the stool broke. As the pictures show nothing is holding in the screw except a thin layer of laninated wood , it looks good on the picture but in actuality it’s a small cheap crappy piece of furniture that looks like it belongs in a playhouse DO NOT BUY

I just received my stool and it’s a great addition to my art furniture; you may calculate in the pic how it looks next to the easel if you are an art enthusiast. I’m very happy with this stool; it has a solid construction and very fine details; excellent sturdiness and the wood had a well finishing. The one good thing this furniture has is you can adapt the high of the seat; I recommend it to any one looking for a good quality art stool. It worth the money!

Buy a cushion too and you'll have a great little hobby/crafting stool.

EDIT: after 17 months of use it has majorly cracked, squeaks, rocks and feels bad. My unopened boxes of soylent provide better cushion and function than this ------ Ordered this in July and it cracked 8 months later. Originally loved the design and the wood but it's always been slightly wobbly and too sharp around the edge for constant sitting like I need for work. It would swivel down when not sat on, and produce endless wood dust for the first few months. But it is fun to rest a leg on, and it has good height adjustments. and I wish the edge of the seat was smoother. For reference I am 110 lbs and It doesn't feel 100% supportive

As a full time artist who paints large, this adjustable stool made all the difference when painting for hours.

I bought this to fit in a small space between office height base units, the type you find in a kitchen but lower height to make them suitable for an office setup. I have a space just wide enough for knees to fit in a bit, 33 cm wide. This stool is quoted at 32cm but in reality is just 30 across the seat and about 31 at the widest point across the legs. This makes it absolutely ideal. It seems very solid indeed, and is certainly very stable for such a narrow design. The adjustment is very smooth and with a good height range. At the highest though it would certainly be unstable, but then it's very unlikely to be used that high so it shouldn't be a problem. The addition of a thick foam pad and elasticated cover should make it more comfortable, as sitting on any hard surface for prolonged periods is never recommended, not good for the bones in your own base! The stool itself though, absolutely great.
