Flame King YSN340K 340,000 BTU Propane Torch Weed Burner with 10-ft Hose

This easy lighting torch, w/ built in ignition, is a great tool if you have weeds that can be burned off without damaging nearby vegetation (and obviously move any furniture). Screws directly into the inside threads of a typical bbq propane tank. Most recently I spent 30 mins burning off the spring/summer weeds in 3 areas of my property that normally would take me a half day to weed out while on my hands and knees. That said, I would not use this torch for weeds coming up between marble tiles or on any other light colored stone or decking. The heat from the torch can permanently discolor marble. Also, be careful with prolonged bursts near tree roots.

This is working great to get cleanup in my gardens. There are several large gardens and the weeds just take over and I work very full time and can't keep up. I'm using this now to help clear the large weed areas and create borders. You do need to get the hang of it a little to figure out how high you need to get with the setting for what you are wanting. And it's a good idea to water down any nearby plants you don't want totally damaged, unless it's a plant like a hosta that can tolerate losing a few leaves at the end of the season. Have to say it's also enjoyable and satisfying to use lol

Holy crap! I was going to get a more powerful one from a different manufacturer, but decided against it. Glad I did. This is plenty powerful. Even at less than a quarter as powerful as the other one I was looking at. Even at that, sometimes the heat you feel while using it can be a bit uncomfortable. Anyway, it was a great choice.

This really kills nasty weeds like desert broom here in Phoenix area that have grown to big to kill with weed spray. Be sure to read all the instructions even though its very easy to set up. I use it with the Flame King 3lb tank even though Flame King says to use a larger tank. The 3lb propane tank when full is fine for me. I think the 10lb tank would wear me out. I was able to do our large yard in one shot. The tank indicated it was empty just as I finished. Igniting the weed flamer is easy with the push button igniter. The flame can be adjusted with a knob that's near the handle. I found it's best to flame the weed near ground level to really kill it. Flaming it at it's highest point causes a lot of flame but may not fully kill the weed. It's a good idea if there are leaves near the weed to remove them before flaming as they will catch fire also. I'm rally glad I found this product.

I’m extremely disappointed with the durability of the Flame King 340,000 BTU Propane Torch. This is now the third one I’ve purchased, and all three have failed after only a few months of use. In each case, I experienced problems with the needle valve and/or hose. After having essentially the same failures three times, I no longer consider this an isolated defect—it appears to be a serious durability issue with the product. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that I purchased a warranty specifically to protect against this type of failure, but my warranty claim is not being honored. I paid extra for that protection expecting it to mean something when the product failed. When the torch works, it does the job well, which is why I gave it multiple chances and purchased replacements. Unfortunately, a propane torch needs to be reliable, particularly when the problems involve components that control or carry propane. After three purchases, three premature failures, and an unsuccessful warranty claim, I cannot recommend this product based on my experience. Flame King needs to address the durability of the needle valve and hose, and customers who purchase warranty protection should be able to rely on it when these components fail.

The Flame King Propane Torch is rated at 340,000 BTUs, which I’m pretty sure is also the temperature of the sun. It fired up instantly with the piezo igniter, and within seconds I went from doing yard work to having an unsupervised medieval siege weapon. Let me be clear: this is not a toy… but it is extremely fun to play with. Weeds? Gone. Ice? Gone. Ants? Gone. My desire to ever pull weeds by hand again? Also gone. The directions specifically say not to use the flame to check for propane leaks, which feels like a story someone had to live through and I hope I find the video on the internet one day. Highly recommend wearing PPE unless you enjoy the stood to close to the grill aesthetic. Not recommended for tanning purposes. Other potential uses include: Intimidating your neighbors Reenacting scenes from a low-budget dragon movie Starting a campfire from across the yard Asserting dominance over stubborn electronics Warming your wife's cold feet before bed Making you feel way more powerful than you should be on a Tuesday afternoon Caramelizing crème brûlée Bottom line: incredibly effective, slightly terrifying, and way too much fun.
