It works well. Size and weight is equivalent to that of a old fashion wooden hammer. Big and heavy enough to make slight adjustments. Used a piano tuner app. Hammer held up well after my first time tuning. Gripped the piano nuts easily. Harder to tune the higher keys as there is no room for the tuning mutes, and I had to cut one in to an angle to get it to fit in.

This is a good kit, obviously more economical than hiring an outsider, and a great learning experience for anyone new to piano tuning! My non-max "ease of use" rating is not really the fault of the tool set; it's just that my inexperience found piano tuning an inherently non-easy process.

The hammer is sturdy and easy to use. I am not a professional, and this is the first time I tune a piano. Getting it on tune is easy, but eventually, the string losses the tune. I have read about "setting the pin," but I am still unable to do it with this hammer. I play violoncello as well and am familiar with the tactile sensation required to set a string in a way that won't get loose over time. However, that is hard to do as the hammer does not transfer the feeling of the pin. Also, the felt was too thick to be useful on most strings, and the wedges keep falling out of place. I am using a piece of fabric I had around, which works better than both felt or rubber wedges.

Well made, fit lugs perfectly, and the overall wrench it self is very sturdy. The wedges are firm at first but soften just right after a full tune. The carry bag, is nice, I'd prefer a hard case though. The felt is, well, it's felt. It does what it's suppose to do, just like any. Overall price and quality of tools is worth while.

This tuning kit worked great! I had contacted 2 local piano tuners but no one would return my call!! Soooo I opted to purchase this kit and I DID IT!! I used an app on my phone to make sure I was in tune. Tuner wrench is easy to use and seems very sturdy. I have tuned my piano twice now! Worked great, I highly recommend the kit.

It does the job but is only good for a "rough tuning" as there is a slight give in the lever making it impossible to make precise adjustments.

Fantastic and straightforward tuning hammer kit, this is all that you need to get a piano tuned up. As silly as it might seem, including the felt line is very helpful and speeds the process up a great deal, you can not cover all of the strings at once with it so you will go a little slow, but this appears to be the best you can do for this price range. The hammer looks a little sloppy in the images online, but it is quite nice in the hand, I was thinking about giving it a bit of a stain to make it look nicer.

Its the first time I have tuned a piano and this works great, everything in the kit has come in really useful throughout the process. the rubber wedges help isolate strings and the tuner is long enough with enough leverage to fine tune, even with the old piano I am attempting to restore.
