You have to ensure you understand the aim of this printer, to be a cheap home printer that connects wirelessly. And it does so really well! Yes you do need to install apps and drivers etc, pretty par for the course and didn't take me very long at all on my android phone. You sign up for the instant ink and get 6 months free, use the code y7ygqs when you register to get an extra month (I tried the FREEINK one and it didn't work). When installing the ink cartridges it's not all that clear but you lift the flaps up, press the cartridge in and then push the flaps back down (see my photo). I was impressed with the quality of printing for a cheap home printer and the fact that it printed right up to the edge. It's not going to give you amazing professional quality printing, you need to spend a LOT more money on a printer for that. The monthly plans are available for only 99p (15 pages a month), it defaults to £2.99 (50 pages a month) but of course you can cancel or change that anytime and buy your own cartridges. I think this is a much cheaper and efficient way of doing it though when cartridges cost £10-£15 each. You DO NOT have to keep it turned on, amused by those who think you do. I turn it off whenever I'm not using it with the power button on the back at the left, occasionally I get an email saying its lost connection to the HP servers but it honestly doesn't matter as it reconnects and sends info when it's on and it's never caused me an issue.

We used to have an old printer that never worked. It connected to wifi about twice and then never again. So we finally got round to replacing it. Firstly, this printer looks very nice. Ours is white, and it looks well made and classy. Set up is amazingly easy. You need to download an app to your phone, and then as long as your phone is connected to the same wifi network as the printer, it does the rest. The set up is brilliant. And any other devices connected to the same wifi network will do the same. Well done, HP, you have cracked it. You will need to make a choice to sign up for their Instant Ink service - where the printer automatically orders ink when supplies are running low. Maybe this works, maybe it doesn't. I decided against it. You also need to decide whether to sign up for HP+ This gives you the ability to do certain things (print from anywhere, for example), but means that only official HP cartridges will ever work in your printer. I decided against that - I don't need to print away from home (if I am in the office I use the machines there, otherwise, why would I need to print?), and want to have maximum flexibility about what to put in there. This bit is confusing and not well explained by HP. The machine itself is quiet, prints well. It's quite slow to print pages, but I don't care about that as I only ever need to print a page or two at a time. Overall, for the 59.99 we paid, this is a very good machine indeed.

I have had this printer since early January 2022, so exactly one year now. I used the Instant Ink programme and got 8 months free. The print quality of the pages is average, never as good as it looks in the pictures, even with a new printer, new ink cartridges etc. However, I think this is the same for all similarly priced printers. The printer set up was fairly straight forward and also did this via my Android phone as well as via my laptop. Your device has to be very close to the printer when you want to print, very close indeed! Otherwise, the signal does not pick up at all and the printer won't pick up the device, don't know why it was made this way, so this is a negative. Anyway, having enrolled in the Instant Ink programme, I received 2 'large' inks straight away and as I only seldom used the printer, during the course of the 8 month trial, did not use the ink much. I only ever received these cartridges and you do only receive new ones if you use it up but you will only have limited pages you can print per month before you start to get charged if you go over your allowance. So when it came to the end of the programme, by my cancelling, I ensured this was one month before the scheduled billing date, to ensure I was not to be charged. However, this wasn't the case (please read on..). During the course of the trial, the price of the pages also increased as I was on a £1.99 package and all of a sudden (after a few months) I noticed it said £2.99. I do not recall receiving any notification. BEWARE! The ink that you receive with the printer will also stop working when you enrol in the programme! Mine must have been in the printer when I enrolled as I took it straight out once I received the 'free' ink cartridges (I had only printed the test pages). My advice is not to place the initial cartridge in the printer at all if you are to enrol in the programme. This way it should still work if you do decide to cancel. The date of the billing cycle also changed as the date in question was approaching, this was altered earlier by 2 days! So when I came to cancel, it has passed this billing date, so my account then said I owed £2.99 after I cancelled! This was very unfair. I did call them to explain and because I barley used the ink, they waivered the fee for me only because I had barley used the printer. However, my advice to you would be to cancel TWO MONTHS prior to allow time although do double check that you will still have use of the ink during this time before cancelling. Otherwise, do make sure you cancel in good time in case the billing date suddenly changes for you too! To be honest for me personally, it wasn't worth it or the hassle I had. It is better to just buy ink from Amazon, or wherever and use it without any aggravation. If you use the printer alot, it may work better for you but please remember, not all printing is free during the trial if you go over your allowance. Overall, the printer does what it says on the tin and is nothing particularly special. I can see the price has decreased by £16 so not bad at all. I hope this review has helped.

This has to be the biggest heap of junk ever sold under the guise of a printer. I purchased it in July of this year and after some fiddling around for a couple of hours finally got it to print. It continued to work for the next two and a half months before suddenly running out of ink without warning (after I had printed less than 50 pages of text). Foolishly, I was desperate to print some documents for work so I opted for the HP Instant Ink programme which promises to deliver ink immediately your supply runs low. The ink took almost a week to arrive from the despatch day - I've no idea why. Since I installed the new cartridges the printer has become a nightmare to operate. Every time I turn it on it says it is off-line. When I go to the HP Smart (about as unsmart as you can get) it confirms my printer is offline but n I try to select it to reconnect it tells me my printer has to be switched on first (which it already is). Searching for my printer produces no results - HP Smart cannot find a HP printer. Honestly. In desperation I decided to uninstall then reinstall my printer - but now it tells me my newly installed printer is actually Copy 1 of the original (even though the original should no longer be there) and I can only print using Copy 1 (which the HP Instant Ink app does not recognise so I'll no longer be getting a fresh supply of ink presumably). To make matters worse, when I tried to contact HP with this problem (as my printer is still under warranty) I can only "purchase" Tech support at a ridiculous charge of +£21 for one consultation. If I could give this no stars I would. It's clear HP are happy to sell inferior quality printers in order to rip off their customers - cutting off their ink supply at the drop of a hat so they have to purchase a plan, and building an inferior quality item which will no doubt require a great deal of technical support. Why can't they build a simple printer without the flashing lights and array of touch-sensitive buttons that don't seem to do anything? The term user-friendly does not apply. PS - I have since given up on this piece of scrap plastic. It took me half an hour to print off 1 sheet of paper this afternoon. First the Paper Low message came up (when there were about 20 sheets in the feeder). I checked all possible jams and found none. Then it decided to tell me the printer was needed to be turned on (when it clearly was already switched on). The array of lights on the keypad area are impossible to decipher and you are never sure whether the printer is in an error state or simply behaving normally. Opening the printer queue tells you printing is in progress, but five minutes for a printer to decide to actually spit out a sheet of printed material is ridiculous. I've now cancelled my HP Smart account and ordered a Brother printer. HP are having a joke putting this on the market.

Im 42 and I doubt I am alone when I say that I am finding technology increasingly complex, especially when it comes to bluetooth/wireless, apps, connecting them all together after setting them up individually. My brain feels like I just went on mastermind, fuzzy as after. BUT THIS! I felt really clever lol. Set up was so simple, smart app very easy to navigate and you can mess around with your photos in a way you are familiar with on the photo settings in the phone you have before printing. I printed three A4 size photos from my phone directly onto a thick sheet of sketch book A4 paper. Easily three times the thickness of a standard piece of paper and it printed those photos very nicely. Obviously the quality of your photo prints will likely be better on photo gloss paper specifically for it and to get the best possible results, but for a quick print and in the frame it goes job, I was happy with the results I got. Has so pretty led lights that change colour during the process of using it, apparently relevant to the stages of the process... I paid no attention, was busy enjoying the ambience so ill never know what that all means until I need the help book. Those three prints took about 20% of the provided colour ink and about 5% of the black, the app has a option showing what it believes your printing has used and keeps track. Cant comment on the free ink promo, I dont typically sign up for things I wont keep track of, my purchase was for occasional use, scanning a document for digital storage, print or scan the odd letter here and there. I wont be using it enough to think about the ink and now I have tested it, it will be dusted more than used... so I figure if your like me, you wont really want to be signed up for something you'll hardly use during the offer period. If you are a family with kids who need to print essays / homework, and you are self employed and printer at home is essential, the inks promo is going to probably be a life saver. You sign up and you dont even have to think about it, when your ink is due it comes to you, it claims. Im happy with my purchase.

Already wrote an extensive review that disappeared when I try adding a picture 🙄 so I’ll keep this one short. Easy to install, looks sleek and doesn’t take over the space. Using my mobile I was able to print some PDFs. However the connectivity wasn’t stable. Before I go any further: my router is in the same room ( medium size living room) and I have adequate WiFi ( I recently upgraded my router to the sky max hub). I was also sitting next to the printer at the time. Going back to printing experience: Due to the printer disconnecting in the middle of printing I wasted a lot of paper and, I imagine, ink. My phone would say “ printer error” or other similar things , “ do you want to cancel/ continue”. I would press continue and it would start reprinting the document from the start as opposed to where it left off. Second issue: some images, within the document would start printing and then stop ( the machine is still on btw) so you have empty gaps. So, for example, I have a first page ( where title and illustration should be, mostly empty with just a strip printed at the bottom ( I will try to add a pic once I’ve submitted this in case I lose my review again!). I installed ( I think) this printer into my computer too. Haven’t tried printing directly from there yet so can’t comment for now but I will when I have. A few people mentioned promo codes. The one that worked for me I will include later ( as I have to look for it again 🙄), which gave me an extra month of free ink totalling it to 4 months. That a perk, as long as I can get the dam thing to print properly. If the printing issues are not just glitches but potential manufacturing ones, I might have to contact the seller or hp to see if it can be solved ;but that is more time spent on something that should be easy and quick. The printing quality is ok and it’s not the fastest printer but it can print both sided. Also, I like the fact paper fits in an enclosed tray although it’s pretty small. NB: you supposedly can print from somewhere else ( I assume that means from an entirely different place than my flat). The paper tray is not very deep so you better make sure there is still paper in before you go out ( in case you suddenly have to print.). Moreover, with the issue I mentioned above you might just end up printing half pages and have to keep repeating the process and quickly run out of paper, which you can do nothing about because you are not around to refill the tray! Bearing in mind that potential scenario, I’m not sure how valuable that feature is. I know the printer is cheap so I wasn’t expecting professional, xerox, I’m printing my latest novel, type of experience, but it might turn out a very expensive decision if all it does is waste paper and ink… let see.

Finalmente ho trovato la stampante che fa per me. Collegata a più dispositivi tramite wi-fi , c’è anche lo scanner integrato. E’ perfetta per ciò che devo fare.

Buona stampante per piccoli spazi, un po’ scomoda per l’accensione sul retro della stampante
