Is this respirator recommended to protect while cleaning rugs, and floors of pet waste, and possible mold ?

I thoroughly investigated what mask to buy to clean up a mold-infestation in my apartment. This is the one that reliable on-line sources recommended. AND the very competent mold inspector I hired told me that it is the correct one. It protects from visible mold, but also from the microscopic mold spores that are so tiny they are invisible. In other words, this mask protects you from any toxin or waste that is that tiny and also from anything larger than that, like the pet waste you mentioned. What's also great is that it protects you from harsh detergents or chemicals you may decide to use in the clean up, even bleach. I hired others to do most of the mold clean up, but I also needed to be involved. While wearing it, as well as afterwards, I experienced no mold symptoms. Also, at that time bleach was recommended for parts of the clean up. I am TERRIBLY allergic to bleach, but experienced no allergic reaction whatsoever. I hope my information is reassuring to you. (By the way, I have no association with the company that makes the mask. I work as a psychologist in Milwaukee.)

How often should the filters be replaced when working to remove mold infestation?

As long as your still able to breath trough the filter. You can check every day if it's doing a good job by taking out a filter and looking in trough the connection point that is nice and Clean
