Ruko U11MINI 4K GPS Drone with Camera for Adults (96-Min Flight)

I've had my Ruko U11 4K mini for about 6 months. It is my first drone and it easy very easy to use as a beginner. It has a beginner mode which I utilized until I felt comfortable flying further and faster. Im really enjoying it. I've had a couple of software issues, one fixed by an update and the other the Support team is helping me with. Their Support is great. They are very responsive and have been very helpful to me. I love that I can just message them on WhatsApp and chat with them. I would definitely recommend this drone to beginners or even intermediate pilots. Its very user friendly, takes great pictures and videos and is easy to fly. That combined with great support and a very reasonable price, is why I gave them 5 stars.

I am new to flying quadcopters/drones, and this is my first. I have seen Mavics in operation, and this is a drone that may have fewer features but for the price you cannot beat this drone. I received the drone just a few days ago. It is extremely well packaged. It's heavy too, 585g (for reference the Air 2S clocks in at 595). The box is sturdy, inside the box, is an opaque plastic zip bag that holds the really cool hard side carrying case (think old-school lunchbox for size comparison). Open the carry case, and everything is compartmented in foam. The lid has a mesh zip pocket as well. There is a spot for the extra battery, drone, and controller. Now for the operation. Fold out the arms, press the power button, and the drone is ready to go. I turn on the controller, it connects...and nothing. Turns out you absolutely have to use the app on your cell. The controller has a great spot to securely hold your phone. So, I download the app, fire it up, and look at the quick start guide. You have to calibrate the compass, i.e. turn the drone horizontally and vertically, it'll beep after each and you are ready to go. Or so I thought. The quick start guide says press the sticks to the 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions to start the motors. I do that...nothing happens. I look at the app and there's a button that looks like a bullseye, I press that and a little window pops up and says slide bar to start motors, and a button that says "take off." I do that...still nothing. I look a little more, and see that "GPS mode" is on and it is getting no GPS signal. There's a button on the remote, to cycle through modes, so I press that to a different mode. Here's the important part so I will type slowly and loudly for the folks in the back UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU ATTEMPT TO TAKE YOUR FIRST FLIGHT INDOORS!!! I took all of the steps I mentioned above with the drone sitting on a table in my office. The motors spun up, and I thought cool it works! I'll just lift it off the table and set it back down...WRONG. I made the mistake of using the "one touch takeoff/landing" button on the remote. Let me tell you that if you press that button this thing will leap in the air like a bullfrog with a cattle prod up his a$$! I hit the button and it hit the ceiling and came crashing to the ground! At this point, I'm thinking to myself, there's a $400 lesson learned. I pick up the drone and sure enough, cracked arm. It's now a $400 paper weight; speaking of paper the motors WILL blow paper everywhere if you have any sitting on your table :) Not one to be so easily defeated, I look on the ol' amazon for a replacement arm, and sure enough they have them, but I can't get one (won't ship to Guam). I decide to take a flyer and email customer service with my dilemma. Sybil from Ruko responded within minutes, asking which arm I needed. I tell her, and she says no problem we will send you one free of charge. I'm thinking great new arm, then I get her next email, sorry we can't send it to Guam. Damn. But she says order one and send us the order number and we will refund the cost to you. Holy cow!! These folks are awesome! I actually had already ordered one to be sent stateside to the fam to put in a care package at a later date. Whether Sybil follows through or not, her responsiveness and willingness to help are a rare quality these days. I decided since it's only a crack let me see what crazy glue will do. I put the glue to the crack, waited about 36 hours and just check the pic and video. The quality is outstanding on the camera. Pictures are crystal clear and detailed. The video is crisp. The camera gimbal works great, and produces outstanding pictures. I did all of this without an SD card. The pics/videos are sent to your phone. You connect your phone via wifi to the drone. I launched the drone OUTSIDE my house, went up about 100 feet, flew around a little bit, and hit the home button. It took about 30 seconds for it to decide what to do, and it went straight over to the takeoff point, re-oriented to face the original direction, and slowly descended back to the ground. There is no obstacle avoidance feature like more expensive drones, but I'm not sure that would've helped me on my maiden flight :) Overall, if you are looking for a good introduction to drones without breaking the bank BUY THIS DRONE! This is not a toy. It's also not a $1000 Mavic. What it is, is an outstanding reasonably priced drone with tons of features. Buy it you won't be sorry. (I actually bought a second one in case the crazy glue didn't work).

I remember first looking at the drone tech that had appeared where I went to get all of my electronics components about two decades ago. I was instantly intrigued so I m not sure why I waited until this year to finally give it a try. I was overwhelmed by what seemed like a literal sea of available options. Well I am on my 5 th drone purchase currently and I don’t think it’s been more than 3 months since I started. I was amazed at how the drone initially shot up into the air and the new perspective I could see my home from. While I was impressed it felt like I could never quite get where I wanted to go before it was time to return to base. I just turned 52 and Iam not sure of the age of the average drone enthusiasts but I m sure most of us probably expect and want something different. The amazon ai listened to all of my opinions ( I almost feel like we’ve become friends.) and everything I had to say and helped me every step of the way in finding the new Ruko u11 mini. I would without a doubt say that this is an excellent choice for adults that are pretty green like me. It definitely stands alone compared to all of the drones I had flown so far. I am unsure to be fair but I think that this has got to be first or second compared to anything in this price range. I never once felt out of control or had to stop and get my bearings to make sure I was where I thought I was. It felt kind of like there was a pilot in the drone that I was relaying my intentions to and it proceeded to follow my direction. That smooth reliable control was what I think I was missing from the other models I had flown. Not once was I staring at a frozen screen trying to figure out where I was and hoping that I was still at the same altitude. I was actually along for the whole flight. Feeling as much as I could that I was piloting from liftoff to landing was the feeling that I was missing with my other drones. There’s one more reason and it’s a big one, that I say this is a solid choice for beginners and beyond and that’s the people that back this drone. When I did have an incident( I am a little curious if there’s a human being out there who has never even scratched their drone) and I m pretty sure you all will have one if not some. I contacted Ruko outside their normal operating hours, told them my story and before I put the phone down they had responded. Customer service is in short supply these days but whoever I SPOKE TO at Ruko seemed as concerned about getting me back in the air as I was..their address went right to their website and they were as nice as they were punctual. I actually was never even able to find a site for my other drones, just middle men distributors. I think I ve probably said more than was necessary so I ll wrap it up and set you free. If you are considering buying a drone for yourself or someone else, your at the right place to buy it Im at the point where I even buy alot of my groceries from amazon. They have backed all of my purchases and helped me find the right tools for the job time and time again . And as for ruko I think the u11 mini 4k is a perfect drone for any adult beginner like me it’s probably even better for for the younger enthusiasts the maneuverability is controlled and smooth. And like I said the people are extremely helpful. You won’t find yourself alone wondering what to do next ruko and amazon have made sure that that I have felt just as important after they had my money as before I made the purchase. I regret that I don’t have any pictures to show you but my iPhone was stolen just days ago. So I ll be back with less talk and something hopefully interesting to look at.🙂

I bought this drone as my first ever. I was amazed how stable and easy it was to fly and the camera quality was better than I expected as was the battery life. As my confidence grew I flew higher, further away, and faster. Eventually, I got cocky and started flying within the trees on the property as a sort of obstacle course. It was awesome. Faster and faster in smaller spaces until unfortunately, I flew it into a large oak and after bouncing around in the branches a bit, it fell about 15 feet to the driveway. I thought it would be destroyed, but surprisingly, the only real damage aside from some scars in the plastic body was a broken front landing gear and the camera cover fell off. I easily replaced the landing gear with an available replacement and glued the cover back on. Fired it back up and it was flying as well as before the crash. Unfortunately, I was a bit sloppy with the glue and cleaning of the cover so video quality was a bit cloudy when facing the sun. I wanted to get good quality video so I bought this same drone again. The experience with the second drone has been completely different. It will often lose connection with the controller and is not stable at all. Once, I had it hovering about 10 feet off the ground about 10 feet away from me and it went into a swirl on its own growing in diameter and changing elevation until it almost hit my vehicle. I couldn't control it and quickly hit the emergency land mode. It has had a mind of its own on several flights and I now have no confidence in it. I'll just fly the original and put up with the lower quality video, which was my fault. 5 stars for first drone, but cant get past 1 star for the second. Update: Ruko proactively reached out to resolve issue with second drone. They even offered relief on the first drone, which I declined as the crash was completely on me and of no fault of Ruko. I'll give them another shot and try an upgraded model because they obviously stand behind their products.

I have been extremely impressed with this drone on numerous occasions especially at this price point. I am new to flying "real" drones after only fooling around with more toy like drones in the past so I thought there would be a big learning curve, but this drone has impressed since I've opened it. The drone gets you started in Beginner mode where you can learn some of the features while limiting how far and high your drone can fly to protect both yourself and your investment in the drone. This is nice feature right out of the fox and every novice drone operator should take full advantage of. I flew mine in this mode for the first 5-6 flights just to be sure I knew what was going on as this drone is not a toy and is capable of much more. Once comfortable with the flight controls, I finally set her free and how fun it has been. This drone is easy to control with lots of feature such as "follow me and point of interest video". The 4k video and pictures are evident with every snap and video taken, the images are crystal clear, and we got some excellent video and images while vacationing in Bermuda. The return home button is fantastic and has always brought my drone home safely, just be sure to set your return heights in the settings to coincide with the surrounding areas (i.e. if there are trees or poles in your flight path be sure to set the return home height above the height of those obstacles). The wind resistance feature is also amazing as in light winds its barely noticeable and even in heavier winds you can see and hear the drone battling the wind effectively. So many other features I'm still playing around with months later and learning. Since I'm a novice flyer this drone has had some bumps and bruises but nothing out of ordinary, mostly related toa rough landing while trying to control the drone in heavy winds near the oceanfront but its taken everything. I would highly recommend this drone both for beginners and more experienced, it has all the features to enable a rookie operator to learn and enough features to be a go to drone for a more seasoned operator who may not want to fly a more expensive unit in certain areas. And 1 finally thing I wanted to mention. The customer service of this company is nothing short of amazing. From the time the drone ships they follow up with you to make sure everything is going ok sending emails every so often to see how things are going, and to see if any questions you may have. The customer service team has always answered emails promptly and always to my satisfaction which is something that a lot of company's these days lack for these reasons alone this drone is worth the investment. I had a small warranty issue that was resolved quickly and efficiently and to my complete satisfaction and would like to Recognize the customer service representative Cherry specifically. She has been a godsend and am so happy with her customer service I feel like you she needed to be acknowledged in this review specifically. Thank you, Cherry, for your outstanding customer service and attention to detail. Buy this drone, you will not be disappointed.

This drone is fast, flies far and as high as you need to go. I think its price point is fair. Remember, its a mini-not a full size drone. That said, the stills and video are great: jst like the full-size pro-sumers. I got the version in which its an all in one controller; not the type where you plug n play your phone. The controller and drone connect easily and quickly. Screen is clear. Data is there. The controller has all the usual features: return to home, auto takeoff/land, follow me, circle, create course etc. It has beginner and advanced modes. Important: this drone is not under embroiled within the current restrictions that other drones are in the middle of. You can fly this without that worry. The other important-maube the most important point: the support service. I've owned 3 other drones and the support either didn't exist or wasn't helpful at all. Ruko Support is top notch. The company stands by their products and their people stand by you. If youre looking for a grab and go done for a beginner or experienced pilot I think this is a good product to have in your traveling "pocket."

Update March 13, 2024: I had a glitch with my newest F11 GIM2. Firstly it was not saving all videos to the SD card and then it would not hover. It would start to swing in a very small but growing circle until I took control of it and even then, it was erratic. I took it in the house, gave it a good long look and put a fresh battery in it. I then flew a test flight when it looked like everything was okay. My mistake.... When I hit return home, it came back but it started to come down quite a distance from where it took off and with my spine fully fused, I have to listen for it when directly overhead as I cannot look up. I was in the sun and could not seen the screen on my phone. I should have stopped it where it was, laid down on the ground to see it but did not. That is my usual MO. Instead, I just let it come down and it did so, right into a tree. It got destroyed! I took full responsibility for the crash but RUKO insisted in sending me a replacement free of charge! Their custom service and their want to keep their customers happy goes above and beyond any company I have ever dealt with. Ruko rocks! Customer for life! Can't wait to see what the next newest drone is like. You can bet I'll be chomping at the bit to get it. I'm an environmental watchdog and these drones have helped my address a handful of pollution issues I could not get evidence without a drone. RUKO made it happen and this area is now being protected from industrial polluters. Thank you Ruko! Update: I bought another F11GIM2 and I wanted to comment on the new controller. The newer version that is wired and is a great improvement. Though I suggest you plug it in with the wire going up so that it does not get in the way of the axis control. Once you set your phone to default to the USB connection when connected, it is plug and play. Previously, I had to put my phone in airplane mode and not have any available wifi connections for it to connect to the drone. That issue requiring several steps is now gone. This controller has better reception too. I am monitoring an environmental issue and make the same flight regularly. Occasionally due to trees, I'd lose the connection. That is rare now. Very nice upgrade! Well done! Great drone for the cost. Picture is spectacular too... Update: Sept 6 2023: All of a sudden the date and time on my videos were all 12/31/2023 11:00 pm After working at possible corrections over a period of a couple weeks, they suggesting and I trying to find the error, they finally identified a problem with the App. The contacted me with a link to the new App version and my drone is now dating and timestamping correctly again. They were very helpful. BTW the GIM2 is a tank. I crashed it for the 1st time today and it was no worse for wear. It hit hard too. Props had a couple dings but I replaced them easily and it's like nothing happened. I was lucky I did not break one or more of the arms. I think a lesser drone would have. Very well made. Solid as a rock. Update June 8, 2023: I've had my F11GIM2 for almost 11 months. I had a small concern and emailed RUKO. I had a concern about a component of the drone system. Despite being out of warranty, they have offered a replacement of the component to put my concern to rest How can you go wrong with a company like this? 5 stars!!! The ease of set-up and flying this is beyond simple. I don't play video games so controllers in my hands are a new thing. I took to flying this drone in minutes and it has helped me greatly in checking out areas I cannot venture into do to mobility issues. It has become my eyes for places I cannot get into. Feally opened up my world. Beautiful video, easy to fly and the distance is incredible. Customer support is above and beyond if you need it. Highly recommend this drone. You get more bang for your buck than you would ever believe. Highly recommend this drone. Video attached to this review was taken June 7th, 2023. I'd never touched a drone but thought it would be fun to have/fly one... 🫣 I'm a "quick start" guide reader, and a "real directions" later kinda person. SO, there have been crashes- many of them- all my fault.... but I'm only on day 4 of learning, so the fact that this drone is still working amazes me! The directions are pretty easy to follow (even though you can tell that they aren't written by an "English first language" author). There are plenty of instructional videos and pictures included, as well as the paper guides, so it's pretty easy to figure out. The camera is pretty decent- clear video and photos at the default distance. Bright sun can wash out color, so that just depends on your direction. This was advertised as having a 3 direction gimbal, but it is only 2. The image stabilization seems pretty good though. Zoom is just so-so... digital, so quite pixelated at full zoom. There are controls available via the app and the handheld controller- which as a newbie, can be confusing. Sometimes the app controls work better than the physical ones- that may also be user error. Mind you- I've only flown it in my yard so far- which isn't an optimal fly zone (too many obstacles- hence the crashes). There are many options that I'm still sorting through and trying to learn, but so far, this drone is awesome for a beginner! I did purchase, separately, a set of propeller guards, and landing gear for it as I knew there would be some rough handling at first. It comes with an extra set of propeller blades (thankfully- as after 4 days, mine already need replacing! Bush whacking is not what they're made for...my bad! 😳) I also ordered another spare set- best to be prepared! If you're already experienced at flying, and aren't looking for a pro quality camera, this is a nice piece of machinery for the price! I'm very pleased, and can't wait to learn more and try out some other flying spots! Attached is a sample video of day 2 flying in our yard. They warn you not to fly in an area like ours, so I don't recommend it either. Actual, unedited video (except for length- sorry, no crash footage! 😆) I used the zoom so you can see what I mentioned above. You can record audio, but for some reason I was setting it up wrong, so there's no sound either... 🤫

I am absolutely in love with this drone. I've been searching for a solid drone for a long time that's reasonably priced. Flying is just a hobby for me so I really couldn't justify breaking the bank for one of the well known brand. I've purchased a few lower grade drones and immediately returned them. This Ruko F11 GIM2 takes no effort to fly, I got it today and took it for a few test flys almost immediately after a complete setup. It is so smooth to navigate, very responsive and very well built. I tried the return to home a couple times and each time it landed pretty much on the spot where it took off. I will be taking her out very early tomorrow to test all the other fun stuff like follow me etc. I am super excited with this drone, it tick all the boxes from my research. I will be enjoying this hobby and will be looking for future Ruko versions in the future.

**edited review 08-22-24** Pros: Out of the box a nice decent case. Drone itself is very sturdy. Camera is HD, very clear. Easy to pilot Instructions are easy to understand Battery last a long time extra props and screws Cons: Controls are laggy First flight it crashed due to one motor stuck Some of the screws mounting the propellers are missing, they were not tight. 10% of the time the camera gyroscope will get stuck and will not tilt up or down. Opinion: It’s a great start for beginners but still in the price range that I don’t want to crash and break or can’t retrieve. range is decent but with all the interferences (trees), distance may be limited to probably 500-600 meters. 60 meters above ground will give you a better range. overall, I am happy with this purchase despite the major problem I encountered. stuck motor, stuck gyroscope and lagged control transmission even at 1 meter distance. edit: one of the landing caps came off mid flight, light and board is now exposed. Waiting for response from ruko customer service. **09-14-24** customer service was excellent they are quick on response and updates. i am impressed for that i wish every customer service is like them. I also noticed that the lag has decreased and the response from the controller to the drone is faster. Must be the update. thank you very much

The New F11,wow,what a nice drone.I live on an island and i like the fact it has a good size as we get more wind here and thats a big plus if you like not loosing your drone in high winds.The build quality of the drone is also in par with Djis drones.everything it nice and tight and all very well put together.Its 4k cameras images are nice and sharp with great colour and a very smooth footage,could even use it professionally in my opinion.Flying the drone,its very responsive to stick input and is like flying a little Cadillac,i like it very much.Greatest thing of all about the F11 is that you are getting a drone of very good quality full of features and performance at a livable price,you wont get soaked with a 1400 dollar price tag like with some other drones,this one kicks butt at just over half the price.If you are looking for a drone for fun and recreation that can do it all,i recomend an F11 by Ruko.

After reading the reviews on this product I have decided to give it a try and I have to say yes this drone is one hundred percent amazing if you are a small business owner like me and love to take photos and make videos with out hesitation this is the product for you I highly recommend this product it’s very enjoyable to watch it from your phone it is very stable as well it also have a lot of balance. I highly recommend it! This product is very affordable as well and I have to say that the manufacturer did a wonderful job making this product as well. 10 out of 10 for me thank you again for a well executed product
