Good
Bought a large because I prefer baggy work out clothes, wish I'd bought a medium. Still fits as the string make the waist adjustable. Good quality

Comfortable and affordable
These shorts are so comfortable and are at a good price. I like the length, not too short. I loved my first pair so much, i ordered two more. I got my usual size, size small and it fits perfectly. Not too tight or too loose.

Great shorts! Especially if you want quality!
This is a long review but as you read you will know why.As far as a an athletic short or asleep short, these shorts are my go to and have been for over 10 years. There are several things that make these shorts a cut above the rest one is the is the FLAT approximately 2 1/2 inch waistband. If you were disabled by with any kind of pelvic inflammation type disease for example, Interstitial Cystitis, these shorts are ideal because they distribute weight across the abdomen. When you have chronic pain that feels like a bladder infection 24 hours/7days a week for over 20 years you need comfortable clothing. That’s why I recommended these shorts to people who have issues like mine. My disease has no cure. These cotton jersey shorts are easy to care for. Soft, wrinkle resistant and they’re versatile. They have pockets but the only thing I would suggest in today’s culture is, for example, I have a new iPhone which is taller than the ones from the past and they tend to fall out of my pocket. Even ones as deep as these. But other than that, the only other complaint I have really is they do tend to shrink. I always buy a size larger than I need so I depend on that drawstring in the beginning, and then they usually shrink down to fit me. I also wash my clothes on the most delicate setting possible on my machine and in tap cold water. Then to dry them I put them on the delicate cycle. If you have room hanging them up and letting them air dry may help, but I cannot guarantee the wrinkle free with the hanging method. My mom used to hang our towels out to dry when we were young and even a soft terry cloth towel can get stiff on a clothes line or if it’s hung at home incorrectly. And in today’s culture of clothing, none of which is very comfortable to wear if but have a pelvic pain issue you. If I want to be stylish then this is at least one item in the athletic area I can wear with comfort to the gym or to sleep in. I plan to start making my own clothing. Especially pants. I need a 3 to 4 inch distribution between my navel and hips to make clothes pain-free. I have hated so much. The high-waisted trend that has been going on forever, it seems like. I also have rotational scoliosis which makes high waisted, jeans, pants, etc. are uncomfortable. I have enough pain inside my bladder. I don’t need anything adding to it. I am lucky as my IC is somewhat in remission if you want to call that or I’m not experiencing a flare of the disease right now for which I am very fortunate. But clothes are an investment. Especially for those of us who live off of disability checks. For the public reckon, I want tolet you know that if you’re income exceeds to the point where you can afford to put food in your mouth and do not have to rely on food stamps/or food banks, which not a lot of us have are fortunate enough, then you’re going to get your disability check taxed. Again I am fortunate because I have a husband who has a job that keeps us out of that zone but we do pay taxes on every disability check I get. Even when my children used to get disability checks, we had to pay taxes on them. That means there’s not much left over. Most pull-on clothing have at most an inch wide waistband. Other exercise clothing look like they have a series if half inch elastic bands that even if it’s a tall waistband, you have the little wrinkling effect across the all the way around the garment at the waist. These cut into your waist and your abdomen. So I’m going to try to make some more modern type clothing that lands between mid to low waist by adding a yoga band on them, which means the of the restrictiveness of the of the clothing will be distributed over 3-4” range. Unfortunately, no one makes clothing for the disabled except for adaptive clothing, which does not address my issues. Especially those of us with pelvic pain. But I have no problem with wide waistbands, as long as they fit between my below, my belly button to my top of my hips. It uses one piece of elastic or 4 to 2 ways stretch material in that area area which distributes the restrictiveness and painfulness that in 1 inch or a half inch piece of elastic does not. Also, the puckering effect that they do, for reasons I don’t understand why they do the puckering of waistbands unless it’s just a matter of cost are no one has communicated the need to adjust a setting on a machine. My husband and I are chemist, so we are familiar with different types of processes of basically large chemical batch making, and the application of those chemicals to whatever industry they go to, but the puckering has me confused.. All they all this does is cut large people, small people, in-between all types of people in half which makes them so uncomfortable! So wish me luck adapting old patterns or even more modern patterns because by what I’ve seen fashion comes in and out of “date” but the same style ideas are there. It is all based on the current FAD of clothing currently! Waistlines differ in height, wide leg, waist lines tapered leg versus flare leg. All these things differ over fads but not fashion! So if you wanna join the movement, grab a fabric tape measure-measure your waist, your hips and inseam. Purchase a basic sewing machine that offers a variety of stitches and get to sewing! If you are like me, I need a taller waistband to distribute pressure over an area, you will need a zigzag type stitch. My sewing machine is not computerized and adjusted by dial. We bought it around 2010. There were computerized models available, I just chose what was necessary. Plus, I’m lucky I have a husband who took home economics! My sewing machine sits on top of a table that has my mother‘s old machine inside of it. If I wanted to, I could probably get it repaired, but it was cheaper just to buy a Brother’s brand simple machine! I also have a lovely mother who used to work second shift in a mill sewing garments. That’s until my father could not handle two little girls at night by himself. My poor dad straight from the Navy after Vietnam bless his heart. My mother was such a good seamstress that she made our Barbie custom clothes in addition to our nightgowns and play clothes plus what other things we needed at the time when we were a one income family! My whole family was this way. My uncle was over a fabric printing company. He wasn’t the owner, but he was the lead and would give my mother, my grandmother, etc., misprinted material. The material was fine except for some imperfections in it. We adapted the cloth by cutting out or maneuvered around the imperfections. My mother did this until we were in school. She got a job in the school district and my father worked his way up at a local company so my parents put two girls through college. We had the scholarships, but they paid the rest. They sacrificed for us and we appreciate it. We are/were very lucky! My husband and I have 10 year plan on paying off student debt for our two children that we put through college. One went to a large university, which was a bad idea. The second one went to a private school and fared a lot better. I’m proud of both of them. They worked hard for scholarship money and other things. You can work without having a job, especially when it comes to schoolwork. There are several YouTube videos out there to help adapt clothing. For those of us that need waistband adjustments and for those of us that are now called petite in build(I was not “petite” when I was younger woman and my height is still the same, pants have gotten longer and shorts have gotten shorter) use Google AI or just scroll through YouTube videos to see how to adapt a pattern to your needs. I’m not saying Google AI is always correct but it does help you get a start on where to look. Also due to foreign companies making most of US clothing you get different sizes based on the country of manufacture. For example Old Navy has several countries that make their clothing. My husband and I found this out when he could not wear a pair of shorts I ordered online while on sale. He should’ve been able to wear those shorts! We took them back, and the sales associate looked at the tag and pulled a pair from a different country of manufacture and told him to go try them on. They fit! So don’t be discouraged if you can’t squeeze into your clothes because it depends on where they’re made, what countries are cutting patterns correctly or if they’re cutting them smaller to save money. In other words, they were/are are shorting Old Navy on what will end up being yards and yards of material due to poor quality control. Plus you would think a place like Old Navy would want more quality control to their clothing, but they’re just looking at the bottom line. Meaning the almighty dollar. Also, when you or if you use a pattern, you will notice that it will most likely be a larger size you fit into. I was dismayed to see this. But it’s better to have a guide to go by and adjust along the way. As you get better, you can make your own patterns. So while you’re waiting to get your clothing finished, put on a pair of these shorts and Good luck. I do believe I’ve made this too long of a review, but I have to express my dissatisfaction with today’s clothing market! On Amazon, I have found only two products as far as clothing goes in pants and shorts that meet my requirements of comfort: pair of Lee jeans and these Hanes shorts. These shorts are fairly consistent in sizing at least until they shrink which I have found pretty much takes around two years for mine to get to the point where they shrink to being too short in the waistband still fits, but they start to fade and everything and look kind of grungy. But for today’s market, that’s pretty good. I’m giving you the short time of wear because some of these I’ve worn longer. It just depends on many factors which I’ve already gone on too long here! Just know that they are quality item. The only time I’ve had any consistency issues was when I bought from an outlet store which they were the short were marked seconds! Meaning they were not manufactured to their best quality. They were sold at a discount! The Hanes outlet store is still there and even though it’s still called Hanes outlet store these shorts are no longer sold there. It has more Champion/several different types of bras/other items. The only reason why we drop by every once in a while is because they still sell Hanes underwear! Have fun creating your own projects! I hope you enjoy these shorts while you create your own inspirations.

Perfect everyday short!
Very comfortable shorts. Got to wear around the house and work out in. Soft, perfect for what I wanted and a great everyday short. The length is perfect, reaches an inch or two above the knee for me. They do not ride up when working up or moving around. I do not get any rubbing from my thighs in these which is a great bonus for anyone else with thicker thighs! I would very much recommend and will be buying more!
