It needs to connected to a power source for continuous monitoring The app, is great and user friendly. But I don't get notifications as usual when a person moves or such instantly. Since these cameras do not store data other than the external card source, if a person moves few minutes of that movement is stored and can be viewed. The camera picture quality is good, but when zoomed the quality is distorted in darker places to view the picture of a person. So at close places the faces can be viewed properly.
