it looks like a fake, there is no box, the metal of the bezel is very thin. There is no inscription that it was made in the USA.

Great Quality
This is the nicest build quality of any microplane grater I've ever owned. No plastic on it at all. The wood handle is solid and balances well with the substantial steel frame (US Made). There's even a "no-slide-rubber grippy bumper" on the end of the steel frame... nice touch. It grates perfectly as you would expect from a quality kitchen tool. I was a bit perplexed by the sticker adhered to the back of the grating blade but it peeled away without drama or glue residue. My guess would be that this is probably best hand washed rather than cleaned in a dishwasher but that's a given with any nice quality cutting edges. All in all, I'm very happy with this and highly recommend it.

Very sharp and excellent quality. Says "made in USA " but in fact is made under license in China. Isn't everything these days?Credit where due though, this is a durable, well designed, easy to clean classy unit that works how it should. Very sharp, so watch those fingers.

A Joke
This is a very nice looking gadget but it is better buy a box grater. Although it is very sharp I found it ackward to use. The form is better suited to the work shop than the kitchen. Would not ever, ever buy this again.
