All Natural Cotton Twin Size Futon

Wonderful new Shikibuton Futon experience! I use a Leewadee-Japanese-Roll Up-Floor Mattress (like tubes of cotton) underneath for extra cush & also purchased a sturdy, Japanese, Wood Slatted, Floor Bed Frame. (NOT the wimpy slatted inserts for a foam bed.) All of this helped make my new Shikibuton Futon experience terrific! At 1st the futon is thick & firm feeling which makes the transition to a new way of sleeping better! SMELLS FRESH & NATURAL! It flattens a bit over time, but by then you grow used to it all. Comfortable with a cooling feeling. I use ONLY cotton sheets, comforter, blanket & mattress pad. It's a Queen size, so it takes a little more effort to roll it, flip it, fluff it etc.. like you're supposed to. Because of this new way of sleeping, I NEVER have back pain anymore & no more hot nights! Very cool. I recommend buying a buckwheat husk pillow & remove some hulls until it feels right. It is odd at 1st, but I can't live without this whole combo anymore! Goodbye hot memory foam & hello environmentally friendly, cool & comfortable traditional way of sleeping! P.S. if you have a pretty normal body weight I think that helps too, otherwise it might take a bit longer to adjust. Before my Japanese frame came, the floor experience was great too. Takes a few days to adjust to a new way of sleeping.

Well made. Nice and thick. I put this over my memory foam mattress because memory foam doesn't work for me.

.The product is terrible and the listing photos are completely misleading—the item delivered looks nothing like what’s advertised. The mattress is extremely thin, and you can easily feel the hard floor underneath when lying on it. On top of that, the return process has been a nightmare, with the seller requiring the buyer to pay for return shipping. Overall, this is a poor-quality product with deceptive marketing and terrible customer experience.

Fantastic cotton mattress, exactly like the kind you find in South Asia. Perfect if you like firm surfaces with some added padding for side sleeping. I can sleep on my back or side very comfortably. It’s heavy, so fluffing it is a little tricky, but it’s doable. I do it every couple of months, which is less often than recommended, but it doesn’t get uncomfortable or lumpy between fluffs, which is great. I also added my queen mattress cover on it, which works perfectly. It’s not a snug fit, but it’s good enough to do the trick and to keep it safe from mites and other bugs. I use normal queen mattress fitted sheets and they work great too.

Comfortable but smells bad

Shopped around online, including on Amazon, for natural/organic, no-foam/spring coil mattresses, and this was the lowest price option by far. The closest one was my previous purchase, which sells on Amazon for $630 right now. Took a chance, and this item is in no way different from the $400 more expensive item. You can unzip at the bottom and see the raw, unbleached cotton filling. There is no visible wool or foam, and I am ok with that. The cover is obviously cotton, smells a bit (not too sharp, and not really chemical-y). The smell went away in a couple of hours. It if obviously fluffy, roughly 6 inches nigh when down, condenses to 4 inches with a grown up laying on it. Pull the trigger and buy it. If you are looking for a natural, cotton mattress, this is an unbeatable deal.

Have used it for about an year now. It is simply a mattress filled with cotton. Like we have in India. No toxic fumes, no allergies and most importantly, my back pain went away. Had to use a firm base too else ofcourse the mattress will take the shape of where you put it.
