I bought this ice machine in April of 2023 to use at my office. Living in the south the summers can be brutally hot, I thought it would be nice to have ice available. Now, our ice machine in our refrigerator at home is having some trouble keeping up with everyone home at the same time. I didn't notice until the Christmas holiday when there five of us home at the same time all wanting ice. Here we are in the third week of January 2025 and all of us are home together and out of ice in the refrigerator. Super annoying. I finally decide to add an ice machine at home and was searching for the same one I purchased for work. I'm buying my second one of these today as it has worked so well, five days a week for eight hours a day for almost two years now. It has an option to add the big water bottle on top so you don't have to keep refilling it, but at the office we just keep a five gallon bottle with an electric pump thing next to it and it works better for us. It's very tall with the bottle on top and we lack counter space. Other than that, it uses two average size pitchers of water to fill up and that can last the whole day. I have hauled it home several times to give it a good cleaning, only because living so close to the ocean, dust is everywhere so I wanted to vacuum out the motor areas as well. Plus, sitting water can get a little slimy over a long weekend...especially when it's 60 degrees one day, 90 the next and then 50 degrees the third day. I have had no issues cleaning this machine. It has a drain plug on the bottom so it's not a complicated task. I have gone through five of those bullet ice machines, that ice melted fast and they just kept breaking, they certainly do not travel well at all. So, paid extra to get this machine and I, as well as my office staff have been very pleased. I am a bit of an ice snob and would absolutely love a nugget ice machine, but again living in the south with the heat I do not think one could keep up as it too melts fast. I cannot say enough good things about this ice machine. Great value for the money and as I stated, I bought it in April of 2023 and have used it almost daily since then. It makes ice fast, it's easy to clean and will fit on your kitchen counter. It takes two average size pitchers of water to fill, it's not loud by any means, unless you count the first drop off ice. Perfect for an office staff of ten or a family of five, easy to clean and transport for travel ( camping, road trips) Five stars! I hope this was helpful!

This ice maker worked very well making ice daily for 2 years. It made solid hard square ice cubes that lasted a good long time in a drink. I've had many countertop ice makers and none of them lasted as long as this one did and to be honest I used this one more often than any previous ice maker. It has good refrigeration and kept the ice cold. It might be a little bit larger than the nugget ice makers and take up a little bit more space but it's well worth it. It made more ice and better ice than those. I mean it can be portable I guess but for me it's heavy. It's very easy to use you put the water in the top and take the ice cubes from the side as they drop or when the bucket gets full. It didn't take long at all for it to make I think it's 24 cubes of ice enough to fill a glass. Cleaning it really is not that hard. You just clean the fill area and then the bucket and below the bucket where any ice that melts would drip into. I really liked it so much that I just bought another one. I would highly recommend this ice maker.

Last update: 03/18/2025 Do not buy this. It’s a serious health hazard due to black mold that accumulates inside the machine in areas that are completely inaccessible for cleaning. Inside the machine, there’s a silicone tube that carries water from the tank and runs it through the “waterfall” that flows over the ice cube tray. The problem? There’s no way to clean it. It’s entirely sealed off. I tried to find videos or guides on how to take this machine apart for a deep clean but found nothing. I found a few for other models, but they required fully dismantling the machine, a complicated process that I doubt I could successfully reverse. Despite multiple attempts to get help from the company, they offered zero guidance on how to take it apart. They ignored my questions. Honestly, I think this is intentional, forcing you to throw it away and buy a new one rather than cleaning and maintaining it properly. I personally believe I’ve experienced some negative health effects from the mold, and frankly, I don’t think it should even be legal to sell a machine like this without a way to properly clean it. And here’s the worst part, after doing some research, it turns out this is a common issue with all ice makers, even the ones at restaurants. I really could have gone without knowing that. 😩 Update 01/24/2025: Previously, I owned a Euhomy ice machine. It only lasted for two years, however, I used it a lot and it was worth it to me to buy one frequently because it is the only machine I can find that makes hard ice. Admittedly, I didn't clean it as often as I should have because it is was so hard to clean. That being said, the ice almost never tasted bad and when started to I would clean it and the ice would once again taste great. Fast forward to this machine: As was the first machine I had, it is very, very hard to clean for me, however, I clean it a lot more often than I did my first one. Within no time the ice tastes bad. I have to clean it at least once a week or I definitely will have gross tasting ice. I use filtered water as my tap water isn't great. Yesterday, I again cleaned it and this time I can't get the gross taste out of the ice. It tastes musty and moldy. I don't have a regular refrigerator and so I cannot get ice that way. A machine is my only option. At this point, I don't know what I should do but I think I'm going to have to get a different one. I just purchased this seven months ago and it's just not usable. If you are looking for an ice machine, I recommend you look for another brand. Update 07/10/2024: I had to update my rating to four stars. The main reason I downgraded my rating is because of how hard it is to clean. It's REALLY hard to clean. I just finished cleaning it so I have a fresh memory of how bad it is. First, I don't know how long it takes to drain the back tank of the ice maker because the machine is fairly heavy and I can't hold it up very long. I held it up for about five minutes, tilting it more and more and more and I never could get it to drain. As far as I could tell it didn't drain at all. I had the same problem with my previous machine but I don't think it was as heavy (plus I didn't clean it as much as I should have). I have to use a cup, get as much water out as possible and then soak the rest up with a rag. This takes a lot of time. The ice maker has to be held in a precarious position to drain so I'm always afraid it is going to fall over and get damaged. The idea of having to do this every three days is unimaginable to me if for no other reason than it's heavy and I'm not as strong as I used to be. The first machine I received when I wrote this review did stop working after about seven weeks but they replaced it right away and I expect that to happen with products from time to time so that didn't bother me much. All that being said, I'm going to keep it because there is no ice maker out there that makes ice like this one. The rest of them make ice that melts almost immediately. I'll clean it one or two times a month and hope for the best. If anyone has any suggestions on an easier way to clean it please let me know because I can't find a thing online. First Review: I previously had a Euhomy ice maker that I loved. I needed to replace it so I purchased this one. I've had it for a month now and it is just as wonderful as the last one. Most small ice machines make bullet ice which melts in no time, watering down my drink, and I don't like those kind. It isn't easy to find one that makes hard ice like this one does. It makes a heck of a lot of ice in such a short time that I'd never been able to keep up with it. I turn this one off but my other one I had on 24/7. It lasted for two years and I think I could have cleaned it up and it would have kept going but I hadn't cleaned it regularly and it got to where using that ice grossed me out. It didn't taste bad, it was just me imagining what the inside might look like. I read a review here where someone had put an American Maid water jug on their machine. I hadn't done that with my last one because so many reviews said none of the jugs worked. I'm glad I read that review because I got a 3 gallon American Made jug and it works very well. The machine makes some noise when it is making ice but, unlike a refrigerator ice maker, it doesn't have a lot of insulation so that's to be expected. It isn't bad and I've been able to sleep with it on (and it's in my small studio apartment). The only downside to the machine, and it's kind of a big one, is that it is hard to do a deep cleaning of it and I feel like it probably never gets totally clean on the inside where you can't get to. Maybe I"m paranoid. If it had a filter you could put in it then it would be perfect. :) However, as a stand alone, and the only option I have to get ice other than going to the store, I absolutely love it. PS: It makes ice a whole lot faster than my fridge ever did.

if you are having a party, this is a great ice maker. Once it gets going, it really churns out the ice and the ice compartment quickly fills. That is a plus but is also a downside if you just want a little ice for a drink or two. It does not recycle the water from the melting ice, meaning you need to drain the water from the ice compartment practically after every use and that could be easier. I've used it for a year now and it has held up well.

I know other people have said theirs didn't last long but mine has been working for 3 years now. It has errored on me a couple times but a unplug and plug back in fixed that. Once in awhile it makes a louder noise but really foe the most part it's pretty quiet and does a good job. 7 or more people in my house and it's held up this long. Will probably order again when it does stop working one day!

I started out several months ago with a small Frigidaire ice maker purchased at Target. It was the kind that has the 9 vertical prongs that freeze up, and water is run over them to produce "cylinder hole cubes". This method is slow, inefficient and very prone to mold. It had no self-cleaning system (this was the worst part), and I realized over time that the cubes were getting me sick. (Mold even builds on the vertical prongs.) On the contrary, this EUHOMY ice maker is THE BOMB! I took a chance on it, even after some negative reviews here (which, now that I've owned it for several months, I know their problems are from improper use). First off: The SPEED of ice making is fantastic. About 3--4 bottles of water will fill the reservoir. It will only take about 2 hours for it to drop it all as ice...and we're taking REAL "cubes", not those silly "cylinder-cubes". It's like you bought a miniature professional ice maker and installed it in your home. This will make ice much faster than you can use it, and has a good-sized bin to retain them. And, it's fun to watch them freeze-up and drop. It'll often be as one big sheet, which you can easily chop-up. The best way to use this machine: 1) fill with water 2) as cubes are dropped, get them from it 3) put the cubes in bins 4) store in freezer 5) when water is out, turn off machine 6) drain any leftover water 7) run self-clean 8) occasionally in the above cycle, run a clean cycle with a mixture of vinegar, then another clean cycle with water If you get into the above routine, you'll have a plentiful supply of perfect cubes sitting in your freezer (created in literally no time), AND a clean machine that only runs for a limited time when you're in a 'production cycle'. No more having a machine chugging away constantly to keep-up with your need for cubes. And, there is ZERO need to "pick away" at the cubes in the freezing element. (I'm sure this is how some people have damaged the zinc coating on it. And, the manual even tells you to never touch it or pick at it but to press a button, which I'm guessing heats the element back up to cause them to fall.) I've never had them not fall into the bin. And, the time to break/separate them (if they remain a big block), is either in the bin or ideally when you dump them into your storage tray for the freezer. Note: My "storage tray" for the freezer are 3 of those 3-liter water bottles. I tried that method of putting the water bottle into the top holder, but I don't recommend it. There's no good way to open a 3-liter bottle, turn it upside down over the top of the machine and get all the water in the hole quickly, without spilling some. But, afterward, I did save the bottles, and cut the tops off, so I have these flexible plastic 'bins' to store finished cubes in. Bottom line: Make the EUHOMY the FIRST and only ice maker you'll ever need. The extra $50 or so you spend over the more common (inferior) designs you see is WELL WORTH the quality you get, and the avoidance of health-related problems with the cyllinder design. There's a reason professional ice makers make actual CUBES, not finger-hole dumplings.

Update: from 4 down to 2.5 stars Had the unit for 7 months now. It still works ok and still requires regular cleaning but it has started making an awful noise while making ice. I'm not sure if it means the ice maker is getting toward the end of its life or if it has something to do with the internals that aren't accessible for cleaning. Either way I was hoping to get at least a year from it and now I'm not sure if it will make it. We've definitely saved enough ice money to purchase a new one but I'm not sure if it will be this brand. My brother and SIL purchased this brand also (on my recommendation ). so I'm tracking their experience as well. Theirs is quite a bit newer so we shall see. ---------------------------------- This is a great ice maker! Pros: Makes a lot of ice! We go through a lot of ice year round as outdoor enthusiast. This is saving us at least $60/month in ice purchases. It has already paid for itself in money savings. You can choose how "thick" you want the ice by adjusting the cycle time. The cleaning cycle is helpful for cycling vinegar or other cleaning solutions through the machine without using the the freeze cycle. For us, this unit has ample capacity for water and ice. I don't use the bottle function but you can use a 3 gallon water bottle to keep the tank loaded for a while. I use tap water run through Brita filter to make our ice and that works well for us. Cons: you will have to clean this at least every week or two. I've gone three weeks but the ice quality suffers. It's hard to clean. The sharp angles and tiny tank opening make getting in there and scrubbing difficult. I didn't really have any cleaning tools that work well for this purpose but I used a bottle brush. Just recently I have purchased a set of cleaning tools that are marketed as ice maker cleaning tools. I will review them separately in a few weeks after they get some use. I'm really hoping they make the clean up easier. I regularly clean the machine using the manufacturers instructions, but they don't seem to take in account the complete water system. So on my last cleaning, the one that prompted me buying some specialty brushes to clean with, I wanted to clean the tube that spreads the water along the top of the ice/freeze mold. I pried it loose and ran a straw cleaner into it. Let's just say, what came out was ugly and plentiful. It was disgusting. So it's concerning that this part of the machine is not easy to clean or probably not even supposed to be pried off like i did, but I managed to get it inserted back into the water line/hose and snap it back in the retainer brackets. The ice is much clearer and tastes better now. I do wish there were more options for snapping this apart and cleaning it. I have no idea what sort of filth the intake line and internal water lines must contain, but I intend to break it down and clean it and hopefully put it back together.

I've owned this machine for 11 months and I love it. The ice comes out clean and very easy to break up. When I first thought about purchasing it, I read reviews where the ice, which comes out in sheets doesn't always break apart easily. The machine has a setting where you can change the density by either increasing or decreasing the freeze time. If you live in a humid climate, it takes a different amount of freezing time than if you live in a dry climate. For me in Oregon, my machine is set to -1 which means that it will eject the ice 1 minute before the default (0). It makes the ice that doesn't break when it falls very easy to break, either with your hands, or as someone else recommended, place in a plastic bag and softly hit against a hard surface. Cleaning needs to be done at least every 10 days. Cleaning is very easy but does require using a bottle brush. I use one without the sponge on the end because I think that the sponge doesn't allow getting into corners as well as a brush without a sponge. The top button on the control panel does the cleaning. Fill the front ice section so about an inch above the intake with either water and a soft detergent like liquid dishwashing detergent OR a 50/50 water and vinegar mixture. Press the top button for 5 seconds and it will go into a 20 minute cleaning cycle. Use the bottle brush to clean the entire ice section. At the end, pull the drain plug and let the machine totally drain, the use hot water to rinse every accessible area. Replace drain, add hot water and then put it through another 20 minute cycle to make sure that any soap or vinegar is rinsed clean. Drain and then refill the machine. The way I do it takes 40 minutes of cleaning cycles, but only 2 or 3 minutes of scrubbing so very little labor. Base how often you clean it on how the inside surfaces look and how well the ice does drop. If the inside starts to look discolored or the ice has a problem dropping, clean it. Depending how much ice you need will decide how much you run the machine. During the Summer, you may keep it going all day, but in the Winter, you may just want to make 1 basket, bag it and then turn it on when your ice is low. I've never had to make more than 2 baskets a day, so it may not need to be run more than 1 hour a day, all dependent on your usage

This machine has a high capacity for water which is quite convenient. It also will let you use a water jug, which is a feature I haven't used. I really don't feel the need with how much water it holds. Ice is produced quickly. Ice does get made in blocks. You can keep the ice in blocks which is convenient for coolers or tap the blocks and they'll come apart into cubes. The machine seems like it will be easy to clean. As all parts are easy to access. When running, the machine isn't too loud, but when those blocks of ice drop into the tray that is a bit noisy - but you really are getting a lot of ice, so it's hard to complain.

This is the worst purchase I ever made on Amazon. It hasn't worked since the day we got it. Don't see any recommendations on how to return it. I wasted over $300 on a gift for my son and daughter in law, which will never work. I am at a loss as to what to do to redeem my loss. Never again. I would recommend staying away from this model.

Had for 4 months & loved the machine & ice; however, it now makes loud noise like the compressor is gonna explode. Not impressed.
