INSANELY AWESOME!!!
I have never written an amazon review; I've never been particularly compelled to (no reflection on the products...I'm just lazy). But this leash is unbelievable. I read the reviews before I decided to purchase one, and the biggest complaint I saw was that this doesn't work on long-haired dogs. Not true. I have a 3 year old purebred Keeshond, so she's obviously long-haired (and always super pumped at life), and I just took her for a walk with absolutely no problems. In addition to being ridiculously long-haired, she's also 70lbs and has a huge barrel chest...she was the genetic anomoly of the litter. And she has no idea how big she is. Jameson has always been a problem puller (she seperated my shoulder, and once pulled my girlfriend down so badly that she broke two of her ribs). We have tried everything short of a choke collar and I finally bought this as a last resort. Like I said, just took Jameson for a walk and it's like I have a new and impeccably trained dog lol. She was so calm that I held her leash with two fingers for most of our walk...the only time things got dicey was when she saw a rabbit, and even then she was bucking against the leash but I had almost no strain on my arm and didn't have to dig my heels in at all. I am completely blown away! I recommend this leash for anyone, even those without problem dogs...it works as a regular leash as well and is very sturdy with a padded grip. My girlfriend and I wish we had more dogs, so that we can have an excuse to buy more of these leashes. Buy one for yourself, and buy one for everyone you know. This leash is that amazing.

Better than any leash/choker/harness
I will never go back to another leash or a harness ever again. This thing is perfect

Instantly felt a difference and had no pulling from a HYPER and STRONG Goldendoodle.
Instantly life changing! This was fantastic. I had tried other collars, leashes, and harnesses and none of them actually stopped my goldendoodle puppy from pulling. My girl Atlas is HUGE for her age, and is STRONG. She had already broken two fingers, caused trigger finger, sprained a shoulder, and caused multiple other pulling injuries because she was just so strong and would just suddenly pull. I had to do something. Training her was only so effective as it almost seems like she just doesnโt understand her own strength. We needed something immediate while we trained the behavior out. When I put this leash on I was IMMEDIATELY shocked at the difference. She literally could not pull. The second sheโd start to, the pressure would stop her. I was able to walk with my arm completely relaxed without fear of it suddenly being yanked out of socket. This was a dog who would pull so much sheโd be walking up in two feet, no joke! I could instantly feel a tremendous difference. A few times she actually would turn around and start biting at the leash which I had to correct but that only lasted about ten minutes. She would get frustrated at not being able to pull. The best part though was that it DID calm her down. She sat down beside me and calmly waited which before she found quite hard to do. I feel like I had so much more control. The design, the handle, it all felt comfortable. I would absolutely say the price is worth it! I was a bit worried about spending $30 for a leash but since it doubles as a harness and quite literally works immediatelyโฆitโs WELL WORTH IT! Knowing what I know now, Iโd pay $60 for it honestly. The handle feels great and I love the color of it. It feels and looks high quality and REALLY WORKS! The only downside to the leash is that when you put it on, sometimes the leash can twist and that may bug some dogs if it โcutsโ in on them (I donโt think it would cause any injury or pain or harm, just might be annoying to some).

Best, most effective leash I have ever used
I have tried all kinds of leashes for my excitable 60lb pibble and NOTHING comes even close to this one. Not only is it extremely effective at keeping him calm with all 4 paws on the ground I have never held a leash that feels so meticulously designed for both my pup and myself. This replaced a harnesses with chest loop which was effective at controlling him but did nothing to discourage his pulling. Before that I used a gentile leader that attached around his face which while effective, seemed very uncomfortable for him and also made it look like I needed to keep him muzzled which I hated. This leash is the best of both worlds, it keeps him from pulling, does not look intimidating and he doesn't really seem to mind it as it not attached to his head or dangling off his chest. It works by tightening around his chest and pulling directly backwards on his collor which seems to be much more effective that pulling his chest or head. I was seriously considering a choke collars because I was so frustrated but this solved everything instantly. I very much appreciate a well designed item and the designers here took the dog leash to a level I didn't even know I wanted. Not only is this the most effective anti-pulling leash i have ever used it was clearly designed with human comfort in mind. There are all kinds of little details that set this leash apart, it has reflective materials woven into the nylon its made of, there is a little metal loop by the handle for attaching treat and poop bags and my personal favorite, the padded handle. It is lined on the inside with a soft, squishy fabric like you used to see on mouse pads and its amazing. Maybe I'm not up on high-end leash technology but I've never experienced these features, and I will not go back. Also whens its not in anti-pull mode its a foot or so longer then your average leash which I really like. My only complaint is the nylon is much more slick then the leather leash it replaced but I have gotten used to it.

Excellent designed lead, 50% success
Really nicely manufactured lead. The cord is very heavy duty nylon, and the stitching is nice and thick, this thing is premium quality. The instructions as with all the Thunder products was excellent, and there are even links to video's on how to fit the lead to your dog, as well as some sizing information as well. So did it work? No. I bought the lead for one of my German Short-haired Pointers who seems to think that he is one of the Clydesdales in a beer commercial. We've tried everything and have found that the only thing that actually works is the PetSafe Gentle Leader Headcollar, Large, Black , however, when the Gentle Leader started to wear out a bit, i figured i could try this item to see if we could ween him from the Leader altogether. I don't doubt that this lead does work, i'm only stating that it does not work with this particular dog, some of which might be his mental capacity coupled with the very deep chest that GSP's have. The lead is designed to gently tighten across the chest when he begins to pull, however, because he is so "chesty" i find that the lead slips from his chest and tightens on his abdomen, which doesn't halt his horse-like pulling. I've tried multiple adjustments, but can't seem to find the sweet spot, so i just purchased another Gentle Leader and am back to that. I still use the lead on my other GSP, who only slightly wants to pull, and it seems to work much better on him that my little one. Honestly its i'll chock the failure on the dog(and the owner) than the lead itself.

Works really well!
I am 68 and 5ft tall and with this leash I can control my 55 pound pit bull. The difference between the way she used to be and the way she is with the thunder leash now is like night and day. She loves it too, whenever I go to switch on the porch light she gets all excited because that leash hangs next to the light switch.

Don't know how to grade??##!! lovED. But now...
Ok... As you can see by my photos the one on the left is my old one which I adore which is why I ordered a second years later. The original has a blue insignia with a little puppy in the middle and something that I love is it has a blue and white polka dot cushioned lining on the actual leash. Very well made for an expensive leash but well worth the money. Everything is sewn well also... So when my pitty accidentally dropped part of the hardware onto a hard surface and chipped away a little piece of hardware I ordered a new one recently and the one on the right is what I received today. I knew something was wrong as soon as I opened it and picked it up. It is very lightweight. The original one was not lightweight. This has no lining and definitely not a polka dot one. It has no lining at all the insignia is gray not blue not that I care. I'm not sure that the hardware is made out of the same good metals that the old hardware was made out of because now I'm suspicious. Is this really a true thunder leash?? It is from the same website that I ordered from before through Amazon because when I went to order it Amazon said this is your second order from this website for a thunder leash. I guess I am to trust that. So what am I to think here? Do they want me to send back this cheap thing? Are they going to send me a corrected version? Are they going to tell me that they no longer make the good thunder leash? The people who have recently bought their first one don't know the difference. They're happy. They don't know any better. Good for them. I want my good one back. I want the one that was worth the money. Okay so now what? How many stars do you get for one great leash and one really crappy leash? Call it a wash? Totally disappointed. I guess I should be grateful that I didn't get ripped off twice.

Big improvement over a choke chain and leash
I must explain that before this leash I was strictly a choke chain and leather leash guy. However I have been doing a lot of reading about corrective vs positive reinforcement and there is a lot to say about the positive reinforcement. I have noticed a difference in this puppy vs others I raised using "correction". I wouldn't say this leash PREVENTS pulling but it certainly gives better feedback to the dog. The main functioning part of this system is a simple hook which provides a secondary tether that is wrapped around the dogs upper chest. It is then fed through the loop so that when you pull it tightens around the rib cage. That loop is secured to the back of the existing collar. I have a puppy and obviously they are high powered and lack control. The first couple of days I had lots of pulling but with simple tugs ('corrections') she would come back and walk with me. Now that we have had several tries with it she has stopped pulling as much. When she does pull it causes it to constrict around her rib which causes her to restrict the pulling. She can still pull but much of the pressure is applied to her midsection. The only issue I have run into is that sometimes the tether that goes around the midsection will fall out of the loop. Not a big deal since the collar is still attached to the leash. All in all a good training tool and I feel much better about not tugging at her neck. Craftsmanship is evident in the tether and buckle. I regularly inspect my dogs armpits and chest after a walk and I have noticed no irritation after a few weeks.

Niet wat ik had gehoopt of verwacht.
Niet wat ik had gehoopt of verwacht. Je hebt een erg korte looplijn over zodra je een grote hond hebt aangelijnd. Veel te kort en veel te stug materiaal. Erg teleurstellend

Hopefully the answer...at last!
So far the only lead/harness that had made it bearable to walk my very strong & difficult rescue staffie x boxer. I have tried numerous different non pull/head control devices (that worked for my other rescue (staffie x mastiff) & this is the only thing that has really made a difference. He still pulled a bit but nowhere near as hard and this was on the first walk! Hopefully as he gets more used to it he will become even easier to walk.

Great leash.
This leash is great if you don't want to choke your dog. My very scent-motivated dog often wants to go in a different direction. One quick tug and this leash restricts around his chest, guiding him back without hurting him. This is my third leash in 9 yrs.
