Good replacement for a now obsolete Cat 5DX40G1 pump
Bought as a replacement for a Cat 5DX40G1 pump that had a seal failure allowing water into the oil. It is hooked to a Honda GX340 motor on a North Star (Northern Tool Co.) power washer from the mid 90's. Old pump is obsolete so I could not get direct replacement, and seal kit parts (over $100 just for seals) are priced such that replacing it with this one was a no-brainer. Removing old pump was an SOB, so make sure you put a generous coat of anti-seize on the motor shaft, key, and keyway in case you ever have to remove it. Cat no longer makes a close replacement in terms of PSI and GPM. This pump was the closest in terms of PSI and GPM I could get to the old Cat pump. No difference in performance in terms of PSI or GPM so far.

I bought a psi gauge mine was putting out 3200psi I washed 3 driveways it's first run for 6 hours straight took it like a champ for a cheaper pump it is doing well so far

A beast of a pump!
I ordered this pump to replace an old worn out pump on my pressure washer. It arrived quickly and was an easy install. FYI - You'll need a 9 horsepower or higher engine to power the pump. So far, it works great and does exactly what I needed it to do....CLEAN! It's a beast!

Fit my motor as a replacement perfectly
Sized right for my current motor. Way easier to just replace pump than try to rebuild

Excellent product
Used this as a replacement on a 13hp Honda pressure washer, the price of this pump was significantly less than rebuilding the comet pump it replaced . The pump fit and worked excellent, delivery was very fast . The only negative I can say is that I was searching the canpump website and i couldn’t really find repair parts for this pump , however at the price point, it may not be cost effective anyways
