If your Surface is in the list, then yes it will be supported just like the Microsoft Branded Stylus. No Bluetooth connection was required. worked first time now not working surface pro 2 any suggestions?

The pen does go to "sleep", and you need to tap the toggle button on the flat side to wake it up. It doesn't wake by motion. Make sure it is charged and when it is awake you will see a small white LED on the flat side just above the little toggle switch to show that it is powered on. Also, when the pen is active, you can't turn off the little check boxes that appear next to items in the Explorer window and on the Desktop Icons. (I turn those off because they bug me, but when the tablet is in "Pen Mode", they get re-enabled by default)
