As a bonus, it's nice to visit a location from the book and talk about it on the trip - then, again, when you re-read the book.

Talk about good, this book is one of the best books ...
Talk about good, this book is one of the best books I've purchased for children. (I have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren.) It's a great bedtime book: understandable, easy to follow, and fairly short at 20 pages. We bought it for our grandson at 2 1/2 and now he's 3 and still loves it. The book takes the child on a brief trip around the state, highlighting several of Connecticut's sites (such as Mystic Seaport) in a short rhythmic narrative. As a bonus, it's nice to visit a location from the book and talk about it on the trip - then, again, when you re-read the book.

Great book but one thing.
Cute book, the only thing I do not like is the Dinosaur State Park page. There is a picture of a large dinosaur on it which shows a child "giving it high five" but there are no dinosaurs like that outside at all or for the children to actually touch. My daughter was upset when we finally got the chance to bring her and she could not find the dinosaur that was in the book. I believe the Dinosaur park in Texas has dinosaurs outside like this book shows, maybe the autor got confused. Other than that it is a great book.

My in-laws are all in CT, this is a great book to prepare my son for a visit, his dad loves that the pictures bring out his childhood memories and open up more discussion about our impending travels. I'm sure we will love it even more after our son visits some of the places mentioned in the book. My favorite is the mention of Juno the beluga whale at Mystic Aquarium, one of my all time favorite CT attractions!

Great books. I have been collecting these books while we have traveled/worked around the world. We have moved so many times that I started collecting books on the places we have lived and visited. Now my grandchildren love to see the places that their parents have been - and hopefully they will be able to go to in the future.
