Who Knew
I had been using Harry’s for a year or two, but the blades just didn’t last very long. After maybe two shaves, they already felt dull — and my beard isn’t even that heavy. I asked ChatGPT for a recommendation, and it suggested trying a safety razor. I honestly couldn’t believe the difference. This is the best razor I’ve ever used. What’s funny is that it’s the same technology my father used years ago, and now I don’t even understand why multi-blade razors became so popular. Much smoother shave, less irritation, and far less clogging.

Great for the experienced wet shaver
I waited 4 years to write this. I needed to perfect my wet shave method and finally I have. This razor is amazing. Paired with astra superiors it's as aggressive as a straight razor. My go-to when I need a close shave. If you're a beginner, you might want to practice with an open comb before jumping to this one. But it's great.

Nice safety razor
40 years ago, my Dad gave me my first razor, which was a safety razor. Somewhere in my 20's, I switched over to using cartridge razors after a brief and disappointing experiment with electric shavers. I have a tough beard so electrics were more prone to yank hairs out rather than cut them. No bueno. As cartridge razors advanced through the years, they've tried to cram more and more blades closer and closer together which really just make them easier to clog with hair. They're also super expensive to replace the cartridges and I decided to go back to a simple safety razor recently. This one is decent, basic and definitely does the job on coarse hair. The blades are as sharp as the Devil's tongue. There is a learning curve with safety razors and the 30 degree angle. It's best to let the weight of the razor do the work and not press against your face too hard when you shave. Also, be mindful of any moles or bumps on your face as nicking them can and will happen with safety razors. It will take a little practice. I'm not sure if they still make styptic pencils for stopping bleeding but it might not be a bad idea to pick one up, too.

Finally Found My Shaving Groove Again
picked this razor up hoping for a cleaner shave with less irritation, and for the most part it delivered. The weighted handle feels solid in the hand and lets the razor do most of the work without needing to press down much. On days when my skin is smooth and calm, it gives a very close shave and leaves my face feeling nice and clean afterward. I also noticed it was easier to rinse out compared to some multi-blade razors that tend to get clogged. The learning curve is real though, especially if you’re used to cartridge razors, so taking your time helps. Where this razor struggled for me was when I had breakouts, pimples, or rough patches on my skin. It tends to catch those spots more easily, and I had to be extra careful around irritated areas. Because of that, I found myself reaching for a different razor whenever my skin wasn’t cooperating. Overall, it’s a well-made razor that works best when your skin is in good shape, but it’s not the most forgiving option for shaving over blemishes or uneven areas, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars.

I'm buying a second one!!!
Over the last year, I switched from the most popular five blade razor blades To the safety razor. I wasn't unhappy with the five blade razors, except for the exorbitant price and the regular disposal of the blades. I tried a handful of different safety razors and learned that they differ in weight and performance. Who knew? I've been using the Bevel safety razor at home for months. I was initially hesitant to buy it because of the smooth surface handle. I'm back today to buy a second handle to put in my travel kit. I had tossed one of the several that I had tested into my travel kit. Over the course of a week and a half gone, I increasingly missed the Bevel. I attribute the smoothness of the shave to the features of the razor. I like the overall weight and balance and do not find the handle's smoothness a problem at all. So that's a lot of blah blah blah, all to say five stars, buy this. Even better, I give it a couple more stars (not pictured) for being able to support a minority business.

Low Quality Blades
Spend more for a better razor if you want to shave with a safety razor. I ordered this as it was relatively cheap and had good reviews, but it isn’t worth it. Nice handle, but that doesn’t mean much when the metal quality for the blades that go in it is very poor. Chipped my skin quick.

1st experience with a straight edge razor
I’ve been a quandary with regard to buying a safety razor over the past several months. I’ve done research and got it down to two. I’ve been using electric razors for most of my life and I am a fan of them, however, I usually can not get a clean shave around my neck. I’ve used Gillette Mac 3 for years, and have even tried disposable razors for women’s legs for that purpose, but I just get tired of having to go over and over and over the same spot to get a close shave so my stubs don’t pillo my shirt collar. My final choice was Bevel safety razor. As soon as I received it, I raced to the bathroom to give it a try. To my delight I was able to shave my neck without a neck or problem on the first try, and it’s a close shave! The only thing that surprise me about a straight edge razor, you simply can’t dive in to the middle of your beard. I guess that’s from using electric razors most of my life. additionally I like to do a final cleaning with a razor after my electric shave and I never use shaving cream. So could I do it with a straight edge razor. Yes!

Good, But Not Worth the Premium
3 stars — returned; not worth the premium price The Bevel has a gorgeous design and an excellent weight for a safety razor handle. They tried to make it easy to let gravity do most of the work (which reduces nicks and burns). For me, it's weak in three important functions. First, the handle is short. Even with small hands, it's challenging to get a secure and comfortable grip. Second, it's difficult to keep clean during a shave. With minimal gel, it should be easy to rinse in warm/hot water. Instead, it kept getting clogged because there is insufficient room at the bottom for debris. I frequently had to loosen the blade. And that brings us to the third issue: it's tricky to loosen the handle. You have to grip the handle and twist the head, which means taking care not to touch the blade. I also worried that the handle would become loose while shaving. It seems very secure, but it's hard to trust "seems" in the long run. None of these are deal-breaking issues on their own, except that they also come with a premium price.

Nice!
I really like this razor and it works well for my skin type - not too aggressive. It has a great feel to it and is nicely weighted. Well constructed and will last for years I am sure. Would recommend!

Perfeito!
