Margaret Thatcher: The Autobiography [Thatcher, Margaret] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Margaret Thatcher: The Autobiography Review: Fantastic - I thought I knew most things about Prime Minister Thatcher. This book enlightened me to how hard this woman worked for her country. She was so dedicated that it was hard to keep up with her achievements. The writing is superb and extremely well put together ❤️. Review: Very nice and inspiring autobiography - Margaret Tatcher is for sure one on the personalities of the 20th century. You may like or not her ideas but the fact is that she saved England from bankruptcy in the beginning of the eighties. The way she writes her biography is as she is talking with the reader. A very inspiring life that I highly recommend its reading.

The Politician
It was fun to read something in Lady Thatcher's own words. I could envision her sitting there, writing page upon page. However, you have to have a rather strong love of politics to read this book as it is heavy on jargon. I would have liked her to have incorporated a little more personalality, but I learned that she was a very private person and didn't like people knowing too much. The one thing I did enjoy is finding what a marvelous mind she has. She wrote with excellent diction and explained things well.

MARGARET THATCHER: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY
I haven't finished this book yet. It is slow reading--a thick book with small print. But I love the read. Thatcher is someone I admired over the years, and her writing makes for easy reading. I wasn't aware that she had come from such a conservative home and that her religious upbringing (which she seems to have espoused her entire life) was as conservative as her politics. I highly recommend this book. Added later: I'm halfway through the book now. There are chapters which detail British politics that I didn't understand fully--also sort of heavy reading. You can pace through these more quickly. She was quite the lady!

A great lady, and a very wise one.
This is a very interesting and thought provoking book. It gives us a glimpse into what we are bringing upon ourselves by following the same intellectual socialist polices that have destroyed England's life stiles. Thatcher made many improvements, turned a few programs around and made progress on others. However socialism and liberal immigration policies came back in later governments. Humans are imperfect and are inclined to take the easy path though it can only lead to troubles. We never learn.

Boring.
I really wanted to like this book. I really wanted to read about Margaret Thatcher. But I couldn't make it past the first 50 pages. The writing is dry and there are just too many names that I've never heard of. I lived through the MT era, but my knowledge of British history isn't that good. She mentions a lot of names, but gives no indication of who they are. A one sentence description would help tremendously and may have saved the book for me.

Fascinating historical narrative and insightful autobiography.
Excellent narrative by a unique, charismatic world leader. Thatcher is a fascinating person who accomplished the unthinkable in good ol' boys Great Britain by rising to the top with her uncompromising, no-nonsense politics. Eminently readable!

It's slightly self-serving but why not - she was the strongest and, arguably, the hardest working leader in the world for a portion of the late 20th century. Her ideas and principles resonate to this hour. Her attitude and her performance and results are in striking contrast to America's current White House crew. This is the autobiography of a genuine leader who discovered how to face and deal with crisis. Readers will be amused noting the differences between this and HRC's recent faux autobiography.
