Can I use this on cotton?

I’m sure you could, but Scotchgard is formulated, specifically for use on cotton, whereas this product is specifically formulated for leather and suede.

“Will this cause in discoloration in canvas? I want to put thos on my vans”

It shouldn't. It is completely clear. With leather, shoes darken while they are wet, but after drying, go back to original color.

Can this be used on lv, channel, mk or other expensive type of leather purses?

Yes, I have successfully used it on my expensive purses, especially the lighter colored ones. I used to get them stained from brushing against dark colored denims. You may need to reapply after a few use, just for extra protection
