Perfect rice! Great alternative to short grain brown rice!
I prefer the chewy texture of a short grain brown rice, but unfortunately it isn’t sold at my regular grocery store. So I’ve been going out of my way for years to pick it up from other stores. It’s a pain and I didn’t have time to do that this week. I took a chance based on other reviews to order this bag. I’m very excited to report that this rice has the same texture as short grain, cooked up perfectly, at an awesome price! Very pleased to have found this rice!

Excellent rice but a bit sticky
FYI: Instructions on picture here are different from my packaging. Mine says 1c rice and 1 1/2c water. Just cooked my first batch of this. What a difference from normal store bought brown rice. This rice is chewy and and has a nutty flavor which I love. Won't be going back to store bought again. Instructions say to soak rice 30 minutes and then cook 30m. I soaked a little longer and then cooked it but still had water left over. When saving in a container I noticed it's really sticky. Not sure how to fluff the rice to get them to not stick. I would love that restaurant quality style where each piece is separate. Any tips let me know. I'll keep experimenting. Edit: Double batched this time, 2c rice 3c water 1tsp salt after soaking 30m. Cooked 30m, had a lot of water left, so I let it go 20 minutes longer and it's ok. Still sticky. Will try rice cooker next.

Best Organic Brown Rice
Great High Quality Organic Rice. I've used this brand everyday for years. Tastes great. Looks fresh everytime I open a new bag. I recommend.

Quality brown rice
Takes twice as long to cook compared to white rice, but worth it for the nutrients and health benefits. I didn’t see any bugs as raised in some other reviews but do agree the packaging can use some upgrade.

Perfectly Cooked and Nutritious!
Nishiki Premium Brown Rice has exceeded my expectations in several ways. As someone who appreciates good quality rice, I found this product to be a fantastic choice. The rice cooks perfectly in my Zojirushi rice cooker on the brown rice setting. Following the line inside the pot for how much water to add and how many cups ensures consistent results every time. The grains come out firm yet tender, maintaining their integrity without becoming mushy. In terms of flavor, Nishiki Premium Brown Rice has a subtle nuttiness that I really enjoy. It adds a delicious depth to dishes and pairs well with a variety of cuisines. Whether serving it alongside stir-fries, curries, or using it in sushi rolls, it consistently enhances the meal. Another aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the value for money. Despite its premium quality, Nishiki rice is actually more affordable than what I used to buy at my local Asian grocery store. This makes it not only a superior choice in terms of quality but also a cost-effective option for regular use. Packaging-wise, the 15-pound bag is convenient for storage and ensures that I always have a steady supply on hand without worrying about running out too quickly. Overall, I highly recommend Nishiki Premium Brown Rice to anyone looking for a reliable and flavorful option for their pantry. Its consistent quality, great texture, and competitive pricing make it a standout choice in the realm of brown rice options available today.

Tastes much better than standard long grain brown rice
I don't like brown rice. I bought this item during a sale as a treat for my chickens and sheep. However, I tasted a handful of this rice when it came out of my induction rice cooker and was pleasantly surprised how much better it was than the run of the mill brown rice you get from the local grocery store. I cooked the rice 1:1 water to rice ratio on white rice setting, and it came out sweeter than the premium short grain Japan grown rices and the medium grain California rices I keep to rotate depending what I'm making for dinner. Now I still 100% prefer a top quality short grain or medium grain white rice that's preferably newly harvested, but if I had to switch over to brown rice for health reasons at some point in my life, I would definitely choose a brown rice that is short grain or medium grain. Now I do have to caution you that I don't get the same results with this rice when I cook it with a less expensive rice cooker like the standard $20-30 single button style machine that absolutely doesn't care what rice you're cooking and will burn the bottom of ALL rice varieties. The induction process gives me a sweeter rice with a better texture. The cheap rice cooker I keep for potlucks at rice yields a far less sweet product that is however still superior to conventional long grain brown rices. BTW I do caution you to wash this rice and check for debris. Sometimes I have to pick rocks or small pieces of dried plant material out of the rice. I think Nishiki is still figuring out the processing and sifting of brown rice since their white rice has always been immaculate. I highly recommend picking up a smaller bag of this product and giving it a try.

A lot like PF Changs
Great value, our local store doesn’t carry this rice in this size. It reminds me a lot of PF Changs brown rice. It has a slightly nutty flavor, great texture rice. About a 20-25 minute cook time in our instant pot. I eat a lot of rice and this is one of my favorites! I’m not a nutritionist but I feel like this is a pretty healthy option too.
