A serious fishing tool. not a gimmick, not a toy.
Love this fish finder for shore and pier fishing as well as from my kayak. Build feels premium. Not cheap feeling. From the moment you unbox it you can tell this is no gimmicky toy like the ibobber. This is a legit fish finder. It puts off its own wifi so it's range is insane compared to the Garmin that is bluetooth and cuts out over every ripple in the water. It's a serious tool. And worth every penny App is very intuitive, readings are accurate, battery last several fishing trips. It's never died on me. Can have it give basic reads. Or complex with more details. Tune everything to your preference. . Find were the fish are, how deep you need to be and heck just if there are fish in the water. It has helped me catch more fish. And tune my set up. Don't like the fish icons, turn them off and read the archs just like on a boats fish finder No more guessing how deep it is, or hunting for the catfish hole. I use a med rod with a 3000 spinning reel, and 20lb braid. It is over 3oz. So it makes a big splash. I will probably switch to a stronger rod at some point to really get it out there far past where I want to scan. I just purchased a bait boat I'm going to attach it to and cruise around the ponds.

Great for kayaks or bang fisherman!
The accuracy on this is next to none when it comes to value for the money. I’m telling you right now from having a family pond that I know down to the inch how deep it is. Comparing it to the sonar you collect with the Chirp 2, it’s pretty amazing actually. The portability the way that you’re able to just take this along on any type of fishing trip you’re doing. Whether it be the river, which I wouldn’t suggest considering the price point. Until after you get good casting it. Wouldn’t want it to hit an log and take off on you but I use 80 pound braid if I’m using this in the river. Functionality is great just an overall great design. I love the bobber look! Also at night you can see it clearly it lights up. The features of this are amazing for the price. I will attach a picture of how I really compared the accuracy from a swimming pool. Then I will post a screenshot from my phone when I was at a lake. This little sonar device is very good at finding fish.. It’s up to you to do the rest! Also, I love how you can sit it to make a noise with the features it has when it detects fish. It really amazes me how accurate it is and it tells you at what feet the fish are. Buy it.! Comparing this with all the big fish-finders of course it’s not gonna be of that quality but for the price point of this. It’s well worth it. I’m sure you can tell by the pictures I have attached. It works well.

Good for ice fishing
Battery was a huge upgrade. I only use this mainly for ice fishing and it works great. Connection was good no problem.

Great product. Finds the fish.
I highly recommend. Other fishermen had a lunchbox sized screen along with a 12v car battery. I achieved the same outcome with this tennis ball sized floating transducer linked to my Android phone held hands-free in my Flexible Long Arm Phone Mount (search Amazon) secured to the boat seat. The charge easily lasted all day fishing. I ID'd walleye at 6 meters depth with ease.

It works
I have used this for shore fishing and trolling from a kayak for chinook salmon all summer. The battery is impressive for it being so small and charges pretty fast. My phone battery, iPhone 14 pro, will die before the fish finder. When fishing on my kayak I drilled a hole on my pedal drive and mounted a RAM system to hold my phone. I just place the sonar in one of the scupper holes and it works 90% of the time without issue, some times if it is not angled right it will not read very clear, easy fix. I have also had issues with the app freezing but just resetting the app fixes it right away. Honestly this is a great tool for kayak fishing, no need to install a battery and mount a huge fish finder. I would recommend it.

Bad connection battery dies
This doesn’t connect well with my iPhone 13 Pro even when I cast and am connecting it literally right in front of my phone. Also, it’s really annoying how I have to plug it into the charger to even turn it on initially so I always have to make sure to have a portable and the micro usb cord on me. Doesn’t help that when it’s out in the water it’ll turn off periodically and I have to reel it in. Maybe I got a faulty product but it’s not working for me.

Fish assassin!!
My job is to constantly catch fish!! I’ve used other portable fish finders and they just don’t last. Deeper has a product that just works! The directions are easy to follow. The idea that I can use my phone with this device makes it even better. I will add it does use up your phone battery quickly..The mapping features allow me to download that information on to my computer creating a map of each and every pond I fish. The sensitivity of the transducer is out of this world. I fly fishing only, when marking fish at 30’ and casting sinking lines. It’s imperative that I have positive “marks” at the depth the fish are at. Over all, I can put this fish finder in my pocket bring a piece of para cord tie it on my canoe throw it over board link it to my phone and I’m finding fish!!!

Worked great once
It was easy to get this set up and started, without all the mumbo jumbo. I actually was looking at having this for crab fishing, and knowing how deep the water was BEFORE lowering pots. But I also saw how convenient this would be for gathering other important info. The first time I used it, a lot of people were wondering why salmon liked a specific piece of water and anyone getting within 20 feet of a certain spot would have a short wait before catching a fish. By running the sonar downriver over it, we were able to see certain bottom structure that 'channeled' the fish to a specific place. We had THOUGHT the fish were holding there, but the sonar showed few fish pings, but we were catching a lot. Which meant that the fish were just passing through and not holding, so we adjusted out lures accordingly and increased our catch. EXACTLY what this was designed to do. That was back in October. No ice this year, so I did not use it again until this spring. Took it out on the dock for the opening of trout season. Swung it over the side and it showed 21.8 feet of water. But it showed a LOT of fish and that made no sense as the fish do not hold in water like that. I thought that the sensitivity was set too high but I could not find how to lower it. Went online with a friend's phone, and watched a vid on setting things. Oddly, we could not access the menus shown in the vid. So I had an expensive depth sounder to tell me the depth that I already knew from over 50 years fishing there. Frustrating. Later in the day, I caught my biggest fish there in over 50 years. IT would have been nice if the fish finding capability had been functional as that fish would have, surely, shown up being straight down from the ball on the bottom. I went to try it in a local river to find some spring chinook. When it hit the water,, it would take 7 to 9 seconds to realize it was in the water and start operating. Reeling in and quickly casting, it would reset before hitting the water and take another 7 to 9 seconds before operating. and, then, the indicated depths were wrong (known from experience) and, if it was to believed, there were fish EVERYWHERE! We knew that was not the case. Still trying to figure out what was wrong, I went home and placed it on the charger. No LED indication it was charging. I tried two chargers, and three cords. Nothing. I tried some medical equipment with same chargers and cords. It was charging. I did not mean to, but I left the Chirp on the charger by my bedside. I woke up in the middle of the night with the LED flashing (indicating it was charging). Kind of shrugged and covered it with a towel so I could sleep without seeing the constant flashing. Woke up and the LED was solid green, indicating fully charged. Unplugged it.. and the green LED stayed on... meaning it sensed it was still on the charger. See the photo. LED is on and no charging cords attached. It will not connect to your phone while it is charging. So, after 7 weeks of trying to get hold of Deeper Sonar, this is where we sit. I have a VERY expensive paper weight. Searching online, the only contact given was [email protected]. I sent nearly ten emails, NONE of which were responded to. I finally pulled out the box on the shelf in the garage to find out warranty info, and found the chat line. I called the chat line and spoke to someone. They said they could not handle these types of things (why have the line if they cannot handle problems?), and would have someone contact me through my email within two days. That was a week ago, and I still do not have any contact info, I have a paper weight. So, reliability = 0. Customer support = 0. Five year warranty = 0. Ability to function as a paper weight = 5 (out of five stars). Being a foreign company (Great Britain), there is not much a complaint to the Better Business Bureau can do for me. It might be a good piece of equipment and I just got a bad one. It certainly helped us target fall salmon in a single popular hole a lot better. But I really did not need to spend hundreds of dollars for this information. You do not need to spend that much, either. Update. Seems they are a little more innocent. They (for some reason) were unable to contact me through my email address. added a new account, just for this, and they are making arrangements to warranty the ball. We'll see. Changed my rating from one to three. May get more if this can be done swiftly. Update : After a year of using this, is is the most unusable, very expensive device I can imagine. The device consistently registers hundreds of fish below me that a tradition transducer sonar is unable to detect. Not to mention a camera lowered smack dab into the middle of the 'school' cannot see, either. Consistently loses it's connection to my phone. It consistently locks up with no indication that is locked up.. until you notice the depth indication never changes. Oops. I have not been able to get it to even connect for ice fishing. Cannot get it to work at all with an Android device. Might do better with the iPhone 14, at least, it connects and shows the depth... sometimes. With all the 'add ons' I bought, over $350 lost. Useless, really. Drove all the way to Lake Wenatchee from Seattle WA, only to have the trip fairly well ended when i could not tell how deep the salmon were (one of my main reasons for purchase). So, after around two years, I have got it to do something besides tell me depth exactly ONCE. Not worth the $350 for he purchase...
