How bright is this bulb when not in heating mode?

I wish there were a non heating mode. I hate heat when I don't need it and this is what was installed in my rental apartment, where we had a nice cozy light before. I now have to choose between turning on heat or a bright white neon light that blinds me.

I want to replace my garage lightbulb with this. Will i feel the heat in a cold garage if the light is 2 feet over my head?

An Infra red lamp will heat an object within the beam spread of the bulb. (within reason) If you have an 8 ft. ceiling in your garage and use a standard medium base ceramic light bulb holder from Lowes or Home Depot (couple bucks), you will feel warmth directly under the lamp. Make sure you buy a 250 watt white light lamp and not the red heat lamps. If this is over a small workbench, I think you'll like it but your toes will still be cold. (ha)

can this bulb ne used to heat a surface to 130°f? i have alizard who needs surface temps that high

No this bulb does not emit the UVA or UVB rays that reptiles require for vitamin D and other health needs. For reptile heat only you need the Red bulb which emits as much heat but not the blinding light.

Can this bulb be used inthe light fixture in a shower ceiling?

Light fixtures used within a shower or bathtub surround must be specifically UL listed for "suitable for wet location". The use of a non-listed fixture in these areas is hazardous. The fixtures will specify the maximum bulb wattage permitted on a label inside the fixture (visible after installed). These bulbs cannot be used in such fixtures as they require airflow over to keep cool. Also, they are to be used in fixtures with porcelain sockets due to the very high heat of the bulb.
