Is there any difference between regular Feliway and Feliway "multi-cat" in terms of ingredients?

Yes. Regular feliway is a synthetic pheremone that mimics the one cats rub on furniture/you to claim territory and mark it as their "happy place". This makes them calm, less stressed in their environment. The multicat is a synthetic version of the mother cat's pheremone that she releases when nursing. It creates a bond between her and the kittens, and between the kittens themselves. It is thought that this hormone should calm tensions between two or more cats, when the stressor isn't environmental but instead the cats themselves.

Can you use the multicat and the regular feliway at the same time?

Short answer yes! I asked Ceva Customer Service this question because I was introducing a new cat but that cat also had a behavior we wanted to discourage. Long answer: "Yes, you can use both together. We would recommend plugging Multi-Cat in where the cats spend the majority of their time & Feliway in where the unwanted behavior is happening (overgrooming)."

Why does this product cost more, the more you buy? Totally mystifying, One bottle is $15.49, but three cost $57.81. Makes no sense...

Maybe the one with 3 bottles also includes the diffuser.

Why are three refills so much more expensive per unit than buying a single - 11.91 for a single, vs. 15.66 per unit for this. WTF?!

No idea, don’t buy multiples unless you can pay less per unit!

Just bad

I had behavioral problems among my 5 cats. This diffuser helped nothing. The behaviorist I contacted told me that multicat version is known for sometimes aggravating cats. They recommended I change to felliway classic which I did and almost immediately saw the difference.

Fantastic value

Considering how expensive feliway is individually, this is actually a fair price. It's not perfect, but it does reduce the squabbles with my 4 cats, 2 of which are a bit aggressive when it comes to play.
