Why will it not play video for nerflix, prime, or hulu? i'm using a laptop & it plays hbo & disney perfectly.

You can only use Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, etc. through a fire stick or roku tv stick.

What are best speakers to get for it?

As long as it can be plugged in through the 3.5mm Audio port.
