Itโs really a beautiful thing
So I was a bit shocked when I got it. Itโs a lot bigger than I was expecting because I guess I didnโt even read that part of the description, or maybe itโs the girth of it and i was a bit worried about having to put my hand around it, because Iโm 63 and my hands are starting to hurt and Iโm not used to something that size in my hand. But I have used it to not only wash out my wok but I also wash my cast iron pans with it and I will try it out on the nonstick pans as well. I think it works faster than the really ugly plastic scrub brush I got for a dollar. I have only used it a few times since I havenโt even had it a week yet but when I was scrubbing my pans I was giving it some elbow grease and I was very pleased and I just rinse it and stand it upright which is where all that girth comes in handy and it dries nice.

Cast Iron Skillet Scoured Clean without Soap
I bought one of these initially at an Asian Grocery Store some 25 years ago, but have not seen them in stores lately. I found this item online and ordered one for home, one for the fishing camp, one for my folks, another for my sister and a couple more for a few friends. I use this daily to clean cast iron and carbon steel frying pans and a wok. Just pour out the liquid after use, run under a stream of hot water in the sink and scrub with the bamboo whisk. Does a perfect job of cleaning and scouring and makes it possible to get a seasoned pan clean without any soap.

Works, but is NOT 7", it's a whole 12 inches long
This is a replacement for the same one I bought earlier. First, it's not 7 inches like the description says, it's 12 inches. I was thinking a smaller one would be a little easier to use, but it's the same size as the last one. Since this is the same unit as I am replacing, I'm telling you all about the first one I bought. While it does work great and I haven't had any issues with it molding or smelling, the problem is that the individual pieces of bamboo start to loosen and slide out of the bound handle. That'd be ok if it came out the far side, but they come up through the handle and jab your hand so you can't shove the thing into the wok after a few uses, rather you have to more brush it side to side like a broom which is less effective. I haven't tried the other ones online as they don't look like they'd work as well. So yeah, it's not perfect, but it works well enough that with all things considered, I'd rather just replace it with a new one of the type kind somewhat frequently.

TOO HARD TO WORK
I eliminate as much plastic as I can from my kitchen.. One of the surprise benefits is that I found that a natural scrubber works much better than the green scrubbys (if you dont try to polish it clean).. Unfortunately, the only thing I have found in 3 years that works, is the smaller of the two (in the picture I added to the main pictures on the product page).. The ones they are selling here are too hard and woody to work.. Maybe if you have a very large completely circular wok it may be functional (I dont know).. Giving it 1 star because it is non functional, as far as I can tell.. If someone has found a way to use these, please leave a comment (perhaps I am doing it wrong). HOW I USE IT: I use it on seasoned iron pans, and enameled cast iron.. While the pan is still very hot (but not scorching hot), I add a small amount of water and scrub (not enough water to warp the pan).. This is the fastest way to clean these pans; if simply frying something in the iron pan, its clean in a few seconds. It also works with the gunk left from braising in the enameled pan.. And they are long enough to help keep me from burning my hands on the steam (but you still can burn yourself if not careful here).. I tried to modify the ones on this page by cutting them at an angle. The smaller one that I use is loosely wrapped, so the scrubbing bristles spread out where you need them.. But the one they are selling here is too hard and woody.. I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT TRY TO CUT YOURS AS I DID.. I cut two and decided its not worth the risk.. Maybe later I will find another way.. I am very skilled at using saws and such, but it is dangerous to cut these on a power saw... I used a 12" mitre saw with a very sharp blade (on oak it leaves a finish that looks almost sanded.. with these scrubbers it kicks back and rips unevenly)..

Where had this been all my life?
I have been wokking for almost 50 years. I finally had a chance to pick up this traditional brush for cleaning your wok. It is WONDERFUL. Just as easy as a scrub pad, and seems more effective. Can dry scrub carbon spots as well. It cleans up with just hot water, which is the only thing I use to clean my wok as well. Clean the mess while it is fresh for the easiest and cleanest results. Highly recommend you try one.

The item I received is not pictured.
Item different than pictured. Came with a handle which broke off after a month or so. Does work very well (super easy and efficient) to clean woks and cast iron pans. Needs to be redesigned. I purchased a bamboo cleaning brush for cleaning my woks and cast iron pans. I made my purchase back at the end of Dec 2023. The cleaning brush currently pictured (the photo showing as I sit here and make this review) shows the 'handle' as simply being wrapped around the end of the bamboo - like they just wrapped off the end that goes into your hand. Which I imagine is quite an improvement to what I actually received. I can't remember for sure what photo was showing when i made my purchase, but I do remember reading in reviews about these breaking off from their handles, and I thought i was very careful to avoid purchasing one with a handle that would break off like that. Well, I received one that was attached to a long wooden handle with a metal ring. AND, after a little while, the handle completely sheared off from the split bamboo brush. Just broke straight off. I ended up using some cotton yarn and tied them off in a bundle, so I've still been using it because it works so well to clean my pans. I can only recommend if you would actually receive the one with the wrapping on the palm-end of the brush. NO long wooden handle recommended bc that handle suuuuxxxssss.

Best scrubber for cast iron and carbon steel cookware
This is the best scrubber ever for all your cast iron and carbon steel cookware. I initially got a smaller one in Chinatown San Francisco on a whim and it changed my dishwashing life. Since youโre not suppose to use dish soap on cast iron or carbon steel, a sponge or even one of those plastic disc thingy doesnโt work in cleaning. This bamboo scrubber will do the trick. Unfortunately, I moved and tossed out the old one and bought this one. This scrubber is larger than expected and the sellers are wonderful. I wasnโt aware it was coming directly from China (havenโt had good experience with that in the past) so I was a little peeved when this hadnโt arrived in almost 2mo of waiting. I contacted the sellers and they immediately apologized and refunded my money to only have the product arrive two days later. I contacted the sellers to pay for it but they didnโt take the payment. Wow! What a pleasant surprise. Great customer care. Itโs super easy to use even on super hot pans. Just rinse off if thereโs any food debri and stand up right to dry. Iโm never throwing this one away. Will buy another one as a backup just in case.

Awesome pot/wok cleaner
I had one of these for cleaning my wok decades ago. I glad to say these things are incredible for scrubbing out a pan without damaging surfaces

Fell apart within SECONDS
I didn't even get one scrub in all the sticks fell out of the handle. Also, I think it's worth mentioning, but taking it out of the packaging was a splinter nightmare, only to have this happen upon use. What a waste.

Falls apart
upon the second use, a small nail fell out from the center and all of the bamboo bristles fell out. after 10 minutes I realized it was useless to try and reassemble and tossed in the garbage. a useless product. I would not purchase.
