North 7580P100 Particulate Cartridge (2-pack)

Fit north masks great. Filters work good.

Was in commercial construction and also involved in abatement and North silicone 1/2 face masks were the most comfortable and these are the filters to use for filtering fibers. These do not work for smoke or chemical odors but are the best for fibers, dusts, etc.

Saves my lungs during woodwork sanding. Will be buying again.

I am a severe allergy sufferer in one of the allergy capitals of the USA. during cedar, oak and ragweed seasons, this mask has been invaluable! Other, less severe sufferers sniffle and sneeze and I manage without. Yes, it looks weird but, for the most part, I breathe! Seems like a reasonable desire for a human, to breathe. I only rated this down because it is not as effective as the bigger, heavier North filters. This filter is nice for hiking and light work but, be careful, I don't think it actually filters as well as the more expensive ones. Check and make sure it is rated for the type of work you need. The one that was rated for both particulates and gases was the best for my allergies but it is very heavy, I don't like to put it on my face and it impedes turning my head when driving. These however are very nice, small and light and do a reasonable job.

I have this and the fabulous but heavier Honeywell North 75SCP100 Combination Gas and Vapor Cartridge (2-Pack) also purchase from Amazon. I find the North 7580P100 Particulate Cartridge (2-pack) much lighter the vapor combo blocks smells better. I use these filters with my half mask. The durable masks are given to hospital workers at TCID are called North 7700 respirators and they’re much more effective than N95 masks. Unlike N95 masks, which filter 95% of particles larger than 0.3 microns in diameter, the P100 cartridges used in the North 7700 masks at the Texas hospitals filter out 99.97% of particles. This is that filter.
