The beloved picture book about what to do when a worry won't leave you at alone -- perfect for reassuring young readers in times of stress. Meet Ruby -- a happy, curious, imaginative young girl. But one day, she finds something unexpected: a Worry. It's not such a big Worry, at first. But every day, it grows a little bigger . . . and a little bigger . . . . Until eventually, the Worry is ENORMOUS and is all she can think about. But when Ruby befriends a young boy, she discovers that everyone has worries, and not only that, there's a great way to get rid of them too . . . she just has to share her feelings. This perceptive and poignant story is the perfect springboard for talking to children about emotions and anxieties. The Big Bright Feelings picture book series provides kid-friendly entry points into emotional intelligence topics -- from being true to yourself to dealing with worries, managing anger, and making friends. These topics can be difficult to talk about. But these books act as sensitive and reassuring springboards for conversations about mental and emotional health, positive self-image, building self-confidence, and managing feelings. Read to my own children and used in school during Mental Health Awareness Month. Can be used in K - 8. Review: Talk it out! It’ll help! - We got this one from the library when we noticed some anxiety popping up and immediately knew we had to add it to our collection. The moral is talking helps, and that’s so important for kids (and adults!!) to hear. It helped start a lot of conversations and was helpful as a starting point when those nuggets of worry started creeping up. Excellent for all ages, but it’s written for pre school to about 2nd grade.

Good for Children but the same as the original!
For UK buyers this is EXACTLY the same story as the original Ruby's Worry. The only difference is a few words due to this being an American book, such as cinema to movie theatre, cosy to cozy.

Helping Kids with Worries/Anxiety
This story is great! It is a great story to teach kids to talk about their worries and that everyone can worry sometimes. Highly recommend for kids who are starting to worry more or overthink, especially if this new territory, depending on developmental stages. This is a story to encourage discussing feelings rather than discussing the main character’s specific worry. We learned that worries can be different and they can come and go. It is ok to have a worry pop up now and again, the real key is how you handle them.
