This is a lovely vice screw. The style is traditional and heavy duty. I ordered 2. They will become the end vice on my workbench.

Great vise screw. Used for a leg vise (like everyone else)... Installed with an additional 1-inch dowel rod at the bottom of the vise for stability, used green ash for the leg vise wood. All worked great.

This screw is faster than most metal screws, at 3 tpi. For comparison, the Veritas/Lee Valley vise screws are 5-6 tpi. This makes a big difference in how fast the vise will move. Compared to the Veritas/Lee Valley vise screw I have been using, the build quality seems about the same. I wish the Yost screw came with mounting hardware. #10 wood screws seem to work fine, and #12 screws would probably also work. If you are building a custom vise for your workbench, this is a very good option. Other metal screws the same price (e.g. Veritas/Lee Valley) are slower, nicer metal screws are much more expensive (e.g. Benchcrafted), and wooden screws are also much more expensive. This is a great choice for woodworkers on a budget.

This vise screw is decent, however I have one complaint about the construction. What holds the T-handle to the Vise Screw itself is nothing more than a hollow pin. It's essentially a bent/folded over piece of metal to hold it in place. Under pressure this doesn't hold up at all. My leg vise lasted about a week before the T-handle popped right off the screw. For the price point this is to be expected. Thankfully I wasn't in the middle of a project when this happened. The hole is 1/4 inch in size so you could pretty much use any pin or rod that diameter. Replacing it is easy enough. I just don't think the hollow pin is made to withstand much clamping pressure. The vise screw works well. Just be aware that the T-handle could pop right off. I'd just replace this from the start if I was to buy it again for any other vise application.

I decided to build a custom workbench for my shop and researched vises extensively before deciding I should add a leg vise to the project. This vise screw is the right size and length to give you plenty of width even when attached to a pretty thick table leg. You have a bunch of options for bracing the lower leg portion for the leverage component, but I chose to play with my welder and make life hard for myself. I'm very pleased with the auto-adjusting X brace, so if you want to use that, there are some sellers online who make custom ones. Very rewarding project, so I highly encourage you take advantage of this affordable device to make a very useful vise customized to your needs.

This is an excellent Vice option if you have a slab of wood to make a vice with, worked exactly as advertised!

Good Quality, but with an Unrefined Finish. - The handle-hole needed to be Reamed for smooth operation. Good Price But Very Expensive to Ship across The Atlantic.

For this price I expected some really rough product - what I got was considerably better. The screw is highly polished, there is a slight burr left over but will go away with use. The only point where one might have to intervene, is in the interior of the short tube that houses the handle - you might want to sand this a little bit so that the handle moves smoothly. Very sturdy, highly recommended.

I was Looking for a screw for my home made Roubo workbench leg vise. This product was cheaper than most others I found and looked exactly the same. It is a heavy duty screw and should stand up to many years of use. Would recommend it for this type of project.
