Clean family fun for many ages & great car game
For those of you who don't know what Mad Libs are, you are given a list of word parts (adjective, noun, verb, plural noun, etc.) that you fill in with your own submissions and then a paragraph on the next page has a bunch of words blanked out which you then add back in your words from the previous page, respectively, and read the new silly version. We had so much fun doing these Mad Libs while on a long car ride (consecutive days of 10 hrs+). My husband and I have a 7, 5, and 2 1/2 yr old and I was so pleased that they were all able to participate! Obviously it took some coaching for all of them but by our return trip home, even the youngest was yelling out words like "crusty" and "dinosaur!" Her responses didn't always fit what we asked but it was great that she felt included. It proved to be a good teaching opportunity for my soon to be Kindergartener about word parts. I would call out the words I needed and dictate submissions then read aloud and all parties were giggling and laughing. My husband and I got a big kick out of some more than our kids just because they didn't get the additional connotations implied by certain words used. I like to write mine in pencil so we can go back and redo them another time. I loved Mad Libs as a kid and they were still super fun, but I took off a star for this particular book because there were a few pages with editing errors. There were word parts asked for but then never included in the story and word parts in the story never asked for in the word section. There were at least 2 pages like this, maybe 3. This is really unacceptable for a book that has been punlisted since 1993. It's not like this is the first copy off the presses; you'd think between 1993 and now SOMEBODY else would have pointed out their errors. Still, a great buy for unique, clean, family fun, especially in the car.

So FUN-helps teach about nouns, adjectives, etc. in a fun way
Got these for my three grandkids… We spent a lot of time in the car so I thought it would be fun for them to make these stories up. It brought back such fun, happy memories of my childhood, it’s also a good way to teach them about nouns and adjectives and things like that!! The kids loved it would definitely buy again!! it also makes a fun thing to keep on hand for kids birthday parties as an extra little ad in gift, that they can actually play with at the party… I’m gonna order a few extra next time!!

Great for getting kids excited about parts of speech
Found these hilarious as a kid. Got for my son, who is learning parts of speech. Imagine your kid correcting you, “no, that’s an adjective! I need a verb!” as he excitedly writes your answers into a sheet (to avoid spoiling the story) and then inputs them into the story, laughing, and then happily reads you the story, laughing at almost every sentence, then wants to do another, and another. It’s funny to hear their replies, too. My youngest picked “diarrhea” when a liquid was requested. Lol. Of course, it gets everyone laughing when you soon find out that “liquid” was to packed in lunches to take to a picnic. These are great.

Smiling with your child.
Terrific to partner with your child or grandchild. Interdisciplinary, on many levels; word recognition, reading, comprehension, abstract thought, (joke telling), communication. ❤️❤️❤️

My daughter will love these.
Bought for stocking stuffer. I remember doing these in school with a supply teacher. I think my 11yr old would have a chuckle.
