Perfect fit, exact match. I was skeptical at first but it is identical to the old one I took of my 18 yr old Richmond. Came with the gasket like advertised. Is a Rheem manufacturer. It is a 4500/3380 (dual element). The one pictured is the old element (same as the new one). This is my first time changing an element and it ended up being a 4min job after gathering a Philips screwdriver, my new 1.5" element socket ($5), OHMs/voltage meter and a older towel. I had to do some research but it's a simple job if you know alittle about general house work. -Turn off power to water heater at breaker box. -Take covers off side (top/bottom). - double check that power is off by checking for voltage. -remove both wires to element. -check for OHMs, if there is no reading that is a bad element.(no reading=broken connection/bad element) -turn off the inlet water shut-off valve. -i didn't drain tank, I had the new element and towel ready and made the quick switch with about a quart of water spill onto the towel. It went very well! Just be very careful to not strip the threads and be ready to put the old one back in if there's complications. I may be missing a step but it's not as bad as I thought at first. I didn't measure the length but it fit in without issue, (eyeballed it on top of the tank, looked reasonable) I hope this helps someone who has never done this before, I was going to buy a new tank but I figure for the price it's worth a new element while I save a few bucks a month for a new tank later. Happy fixing!
