Great little product. Needed it for my overpowered Dewalt drill
So I ended up ordering 2 of these because I've got a Dewalt mid grip drill that is reaaally powerful and it makes screwing really hard. (No pun intended.) These both arrived looking good. The metal jacket slides up and down and is held in my a C-clip at the base and i think another on the inside of the cylinder. I used it to drill a few 3 inch screws into some 2x4's last night to test it out. It worked great. The magnet was ok at holding the screw on; adequate, which is good enough to to me. When the screw slipped a few times it stayed contained and quickly went back on to the screw. No more mared up work!! It helped prevent stripping the screws too, though it didn't remove the risk entirely. I still needed to be gentle on the trigger and keep the pressure on the back of the drill. As for some of the bad removes about crap quality or broken C-clips. The quality seems as good as any simple metal device could be. Since the outer cylinder extends a few millimeters paster the inner, that does mean that when you screw something down at high speed, the impact will transfer to the cylinder and the C-clip. Apparently, the clip can pop off or the cylinder actually splits, based on poor reviews. Some solutions to consider to extend the life of this tool is: - You could superglue or use tape(or a mix of both) over the clip (I used painters tape because it is essentially paper and becomes a very hard acrylic compositve when mixed). - To prevent the metal tube splitting at some point, you could either use a dremel cutting disk to cut it shorter about 3-4 mm, or perhaps wrap it in duct tape, or try the superglue+painters tape and wrap it tightly a few times to make it stronger. In short, it really is a simple and helpful device, and there are ways to prevent breaking it. Just use your imagination!

This is the one to get
I tried others, including Dewalt. Almost impossible to remove the bit. This one's for screw driving, not impact so much. The bit is snug but mainly just held in by a magnet, so it's very easy to swap out. This also has the guide I love. I've found that the guide on these DeWalt extenders fall off after a year or so of medium use, but before that it's very handy. One thing, they're not all that strong. So if you try using it as a ratchet it'll split under heavy load. For that purpose, maybe the impact driver ones are better.

Fell apart after a couple uses but it still works
I wish I had this thing years ago. It works really well with long and short screws. Mine actually fell apart and now the sheath falls off the bit holder, but it still gets the job done. I just have to make sure I don't pull it out too far. Definitely a great purchase.

Sliding sleeve falls off
Purchased 2 of these and both of them lasted less than 15 minutes. The sliding sleeve falls off and does not stay on when trying to use it.

The worst retractable sleeve on the market.
I would not recommend theses at all. I've used retracting sleeves for years and thought I'd try Dewalt. Both of these broke the first day. One of them fell off onto the ground after screwing only three screws in. The second broke the same way only an hour later. Again, I've done construction work for years and I've used retracting sleeves for years. These are the worst by far. Perhaps I bought a bad pair, but I wasn't pleased at all with this item.

No more dropsey
As a woman, I try to do my best. It does not equal carpenter status but it works. This little gadget holds the screw firm while you try to put the screw into wood/wall
