Can this be used left and right handed and file used in both directions?

Yes. I actually like using this bit to clean and cut the natural nail from underneath. I use a 5 in 1 bit for around the cuticle. I use this bit as an under the nail cleaner works amazing

Upon ordering i received fine grid not medium grid as product is listed. have any of you received fine instead medium grid?

Yes I also recieved fine grit. I was a little let down seeing as tho I wanted medium. But the fine grit works just fine. I just have to do a few more light passes is all.

Will it cut into the nail plate for medium grit ?

Yes, this would be more for filing around the cuticle after acrylic is applied. I recommend only fine or extra fine grit on the natural nail.

I use it on my natural nail/cuticle area. Some people will say not to, and others do as I do. That may be where your getting mixed reviews.
