Rough start, good final result
I noted the reviews that said something along the lines of "you get what you pay for." My experience is as follows: - I received the controllers, hooked them up to a raspberry pi emulator, and tested the units - The units worked, but performance was unpredictable and inconsistent - I reached out to the vendor (kiwitata). The vendor responded fairly promptly, and sent replacement controllers. - The replacement controllers worked much better, and we've had no issues with them. To sum up, I appreciated the vendor's effort to resolve the issue promptly. Following is the vendor's email response: Dear Adam, Thanks for your contact. And we apologize for the inconvenience caused to u. Weโve contacted you on Aug 13 and hope to solve this issue after we saw your 3 star feedbacks on Amazon. But message undelivered. Yes, the D-pad seems defective. We are willing to re-send one set to you for replacement free of charge. You are also not need to return the defective ones. The new set has been improved by our factory. Please see attached controller printed โKiwitataโ logo. The appearance of the controllers is the same with the one you got. But it is not the same. The improved one is made of new mold and the one you buy that is made of old mold. The difference between the two is: 1. Materials are not the same. The material of the new one is ABS. Good gloss, especially A B button. 2. The new one will be more texture. It is a little bit heavier than the old one. High quality feel. 3. The new version button function is more accurate, faster response. 4. The main difference is the electronic components inside the circuit board are not the same. The functional modules have been improved. We will not let disappointed again. The tracking number will be provided to you tomorrow. We sincerely hope to help solve your problem and give you a good shopping experience. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us. Sincerely, Kiwitata

Retro Memories Return
Worked straight away right out the box. No fuss, No installation just simply plug and play. Feels like the original controller with great feedback from the buttons.

Good for retro gamers!
These controllers were a great purchase for my computer!they fit in my hands comfortably and pack great performance.i havenโt had any problems with the responsiveness of the buttons and Iโve been using them for a couple of month now!they are comparable with most emulations and the only thing I gotta gripe about is the cord length.other than that it was a great purchase!

Works great with my raspberry pi!
I was skeptical because of the mixed reviews but decided to give these a try before I spent twice as much on more expensive options. Only had them a few days but so far so good. All the buttons work properly and there doesn't seem to be any delay whatsoever, Works fantastic with my Raspberry Pi.

Your controls need a handicap? These are for you!
Are your old school NES and SNES gamea just too darn easy? Zelda II, Contra, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden - are all of these titles a bunch of pushovers and you wished they were harder to beat? Looking for a way to truly challenge yourself by handicapping the controls? If so - then this product is for you! I have purchased two of these sets and all 4 controllers have the same issues. With all 4 of them, while moving left, the character will just stop moving. Link just stops running random while running through a corridor in Zelda II. In Zelda I, he just won't move left for a moment. You can move him left after he stops, but by then, you've already taken the hit. The other issue is the downward directional button. It does move downward,, but it randomly spins the player around. In Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania, you need to kneel and turn around quickly. Same for Conta. You'll kneel, but you do a 180, shooting, whipping, or slashing the wrong direction and taking damage. Fighting knights in Zelda II is unfair because any attack at the knight's legs may spin you away from him and he'll hit you. In Zelda I, the knights there require precision as they change direction quickly - you have to snag a quick hit and run. You'll get hit repeatedly when you attack the wrong direction several times against a large group of them. If you were looking for a "hard mode" for your childhood titles, pick these bad boys up and give the new challenge a try. For anyone else - these are cheap for a reason. They work somewhat, but not nearly well enough to bother buying.

Feels just like the originals used to! Faithful recreation
These have been quite nice. I have them for light use at my desk for games and streaming so I haven't seen the wires pull out or anything yet, but I can say that the button pushes feel just like the old set I have in the closet. I know some people say that the buttons are hard to push, but personally these are easier than my original SNES controllers that had some DPAD inputs that were so stiff that it felt like you might have to stand on them to get them to register. By comparison these are smooth and comfortable. All in all, very happy with the price and quality for might purposes.

One Controller Did Not Work - *UPDATE*
*Updated Review* Spoke with customer service regarding the non-functioning controller. They were extremely responsive and supplied a replacement asap, which is an awesome working controller. Great to work with a company that takes pride in its product and willing to provide excellent service. Thank you! *Original Review* 1 of 2 controllers out of the box worked. Tested both separately in the same PC usb slot and other available usb slots. The functioning controller is great and has a responsive feel, unfortunately, would rather have 2 working controllers. Otherwise, still a good product for emulators etc.

Actually really good controllers
Controllers work great. They feel good and seem to be really well made. Buttons are very responsive. Honestly just as good as the more expensive ones Iโve bought before. Iโm very happy with this purchase.

Great customer service, great controllers.
As many others have complained and mentioned before, I too experience the D-pads to stick. Sometimes you may press Left or Right on the D-Pad and the Down button gets stuck and then you scroll all the way down on a menu. Or even sometimes during game play the same thing will occur. The D-Pad is not snug within the controller and is able to move around. This is probably what is causing this issue. The other buttons seem to be working and responding as they should. I connected the controller to a Raspberry Pi and it was responsive right away. Update: After my initial review, customer service contacted me because they were sad to see my defective controllers. They sent me two new controllers free of charge in order to have better customer satisfaction, and it worked. The new controllers (this time with the multi color buttons) are of the same make, work absolutely fine. I just plugged them to the Pi and right away the system recognized the inputs and I was able to play. The D-Pad is more snug for the newer remotes and the buttons seem to be more responsive due to a tighter fit. Overall I recommend these controllers, no remote input required, they have great customer service. I even ordered some other products from the same supplier because of this.

Good and cheap
Been using the controllers since 2017, on and off, about 3-4 times per year. Work as intended. In 2024, starts been glitchy on the Y button. Ok if you want to play SNES games

Excellent quality for the price
I was surprised at the great quality of these controllers given their low price point. The build is excellent, lightweight, responsive, and the buttons feel good like my legacy controller. This was a great purchase, hands down!

Good controllers and great customer service.
These controllers work very nicely for the price they are sold for. All of the buttons are responsive and it fits in the hand like a normal SNES controller. I haven't had any issues with input lag. The start and select button require less pressure than my real SNES controllers, which is nice. This is a good deal if you're looking for two SNES usb controllers. This company also offers very good customer support and if you're having any issues with the product they'll sort it out with you very quickly. There's really no way to go wrong with these! The controllers are a bit lighter than a real SNES controller, but it does not affect gameplay at all, and it's actually something I kind of like about them. The wire for the controllers is not very long, so you won't be able to play from very far away from your console. Overall the controllers are good and the customer service is great, I would definitely recommend them
