What is the difference between the explorer and the builder kits?  If I’m buying 2, should I get one of each, or just two of the same one?

Accepted Answer

The Builder Kit is the older/previous version of our Explorer Kit.  I would recommend to buy 2 of the same kit so they work the best together.  I would also recommend purchasing the Explorer Kit if you think you might might to expand into additional kits or the Creator Kit at a later date.

product description says "recommend 2-3 Explorer kits for large forts". what does that mean?

Accepted Answer

Each kit is sold separately.  One kit includes 20 panels, 18 triangle braces and 86 foam connectors. If you buy multiple Explorer Kits, the pieces from each kit are interchangeable to build bigger forts.

Each panel is about 2′ x 2′ and each Explorer Kit includes 20 panels.

You could make a 2′ x 2′ tunnel with three panels and repeat this six times to create a tunnel that is about 12′ long with a single Explorer Kit.

Or pick one of our Projects and build a big fort, maze, or tunnel.  A single Explorer Kit allows you to build a fort that requires up to 8′ x 8′ of floor space.

Or buy multiple Explorer Kits to build really big things (most customers buy three Explorer Kits).

One Explorer Kit is good for kids ages 4-5, if you have older kids and multiple kids we recommend buying  2-3 Explorer Kits.

Can this withstand rain if the fort is built outside?

Our forts are made from an upgraded cardboard. They are NOT water proof and will get damaged if they get wet, so can not be built outside in the rain.
