Harvey's WM Harvey 043010 Stainless Plumbers Putty, 14 oz | Flexible, Never Hardens, Cracks, or Crumbles-Even If Can Is Left Open

Good ole standby product. I was going to install new drain assembly in my sink and when I checked my old tub of this product, it was hard. It was only 35 years old or so, I purchased this and it works as it should. No leaks, easy to clean overage.

Does what it is supposed to do.

It works normally, as described.

Besides arriving with a broke lid (pictured) it seems to work as advertised. Hopefully it doesnt dry out because lid was cracked!

It was a dark and stormy night. Okay, it was a Tuesday afternoon, but the kitchen sink was leaking, which is basically the domestic equivalent of a hurricane. The drain flange was loose. I tried tightening it. I tried yelling at it. Nothing worked. Water was dripping into the cabinet below, threatening my stash of cleaning supplies. I grabbed this tub of Harvey’s Putty. Ease of Use: If you passed Kindergarten art class, you can use this. You roll it into a "snake" (a skill I perfected in 1984), wrap it around the drain, and squish it down. It is oddly satisfying. It feels like dense modeling clay. It doesn't dry out instantly, giving you time to reposition things when you inevitably mess up the first time. Performance: It sealed the leak instantly. No more drips. No more water damage. No more calling a plumber and paying him the equivalent of a semester of college tuition to turn a wrench. Value: For a few bucks, you get a tub that will last you a lifetime, unless you have a serious plumbing addiction. This stuff is "drain" simple to use. It’s a "hole" in one!

It wasn't a used product, but shipping an unsealed tub of goop in a bag is beyond stupid Amazon. Thankfully it's thick so it didn't get out and into the other items in said bag. As for the product, literally just used it, never seen the stuff IRL but it looked right, smells a bit funny but not off-putting thankfully, seems to have done what it's supposed to do after watching videos of using the putty to reinstall a sink drain. I'll update if it all like washes away or just doesn't bond due to the tub being open, presumably over an the 2 hours since it was packaged (was a rush ship to fix the kitchen sink in which the old putty got a breach just before midnight so I was stalking the delivery all morning 😂)

Unlike a few negative comments for receiving hardened stuff, I received it very well and sealed my leaky wash basin. I highly recommend this product to someone looking for a plumbers putty.

I bought Harvey’s Plumber’s Putty expecting a simple fixture-setting compound. What I actually received was an indestructible, water-defying lump of absolute magic. Here is what you need to know before buying: Sensory Experience: It feels like Play-Doh designed for stressed-out adults who have been under a bathroom vanity for three hours questioning all their life choices. Performance: I rolled a piece into a little gray snake, wrapped it around my drain flange, tightened the nut, and watched it squeeze out like gray toothpaste. Not a single drop of water has escaped since. It seals better than a vault at Fort Knox. Versatility: My sink no longer leaks, my marriage is saved, and I spent an extra ten minutes just rolling the leftover putty into little stress balls. Pro Tip: Do not attempt to eat it, no matter how much it resembles grey marzipan while you're lying upside down on your bathroom tile at 2:00 AM. Verdict: 10/10. If this stuff ever fails, it means gravity itself has stopped working.

I don't use plumber's putty often, however, my stainless kitchen sinks had the drain fail and were leaking. The actual sinks were in good shape, the drains had rotted out and needed to be replaced. The putty worked well, was easy to use and priced competitively to retail products. Recommended

Product was not flexible as should be in order for be used; 75% of it was hard & solid. I had to get out to buy from Bunnings another one. I do not recommend this product.
