My First Sewing Book: 35 easy and fun projects for children aged 7 years +

My twelve-year-old son receiv ed a sewing machine and this book for Christmas. He has never sewn before but the directions in this book are easy enough and explained in detail for him to use and make several of the projects found in the book. I highly recommend it for those crafters who have been sewing as well as for those who are beginning to sew as the crafts and projects are not too difficult and they are great pieces of "art" when completed.

This is a super cute project book, great for littles to teens. The projects are trendy and have easy instructions. I am just thrilled with it. I purchased one for my nieces who are elementary and middle school, and am going to purchase another for my own children. GREAT BOOK, I highly recommend this!

As long as you get the paperback and not the Kindle version, this is a great introduction to sewing. I got it for my 7 year old for Christmas along with a basic sewing kit. She has been practicing and loves the projects; my only complaint is that you have to photocopy the the patterns, often at 200%, and since we have the Kindle version I thought I could just print them for her. Alas, Kindle does not allow you to print anything, so we cannot use the patterns. I am going to have to buy the paperback version for her to be able to actually make anything so I am not sure why a Kindle version is even offered!

I was going to give this to a 7 year old daughter of a friend, but have decided to keep it and make up kits for lots of kids. There are great projects in here and they're not too hard. I started sewing when I was about 7 and think this is a great little book. I may buy another and give it to my friend's daughter.

This book is well worth the money. I bought it for my oldest granddaughters, who are nine and ten years old. They couldn't wait to start sewing. So they came to my house today and, with very little help from me, made the sausage dog and modified the sausage dog and made a snake as well. I helped them thread needles and use my sharp scissors but other than that they had no problems following the directions. Great product and well written. They are planning their next visit to Gama's and their next projects.

My soon to be 8 year old granddaughter is interested in sewing and has asked for a sewing machine for her birthday! I've been working with her sewing things by hand for about a year now. I saw this book and thought it would be just the right thing for her. While I haven't given it to her yet - 3 more weeks until her birthday - I can see it's just what she needs! I especially like how they tell you exactly what you'll need for each project, what type of stitching you will be doing, templates for making the projects, and my favorite - - a glossary of sewing techniques, complete with very clear diagrams of various types of stitching. Any young girl/woman could use this book for reference, if nothing else. I'm very pleased.

My 7 yr. old daughter found many projects in this book she is interested in making. Very simple and cute. Already picked out a few great Mother's Day projects for Grandmothers. Would recommend to others.

This sewing book was purchased as a gift for my ten year old grand daughter. She is artistic and reads well. The projects that she has completed from this book are really cute. She made a doll for one of her sisters for a birthday gift and did it alone. Not only does the book give you ideas, but leads a child to use their imagination and augment the ideas into other projects. She loves the book!

I bought this for my 7 year old grandson's birthday and he loves it. I am a keen needleworker and I want to teach him some design work and sewing basics - sewing on a button, running stitches and blanket stitch (so that he can sew on his award badges himself). I chose the book because the illustrations show a boy selecting fabric and although some the things are girly, there are plenty of things for him to make. It has certainly sparked an interest and he has made a pirate toy and an owl so far. I have emphasised changing designs and selecting different colours and buttons and it is a good basic book with clear instructions and illustrations. He is now planning something for his younger brother. It is all hand work as far as I can see but I am teaching him to use my electric sewing machine to speed up the processes - for a boy this is great!!

This book looks ideal for my granddaughter. Although 'used' it was in almost perfect condition.

This was a gift for our granddaughter and she has already done several projects out of it. Well worth the price.
