Great book! Explains medical terms in a way that is clearly directed to non-medical personnel, and seemed to be directed at helping them navigate their medical billing processes, which I am sure comes in handy for a lot of people. For me, being a medical person, it still contained a lot of medical terms to help me brush up on my terminology, and I love that it explained how medical terminology began, Even tho I knew this already, I liked the way it explained it clearly, an easy way I can adapt to better explain to my students. Great resource. I received this e book free thru the kindle store, and this review is honest and accurate.

This book has really helped me to make sense in all the confusing medical vocabulary and as a result of that I gained more confidence in understanding the other medical literature. I find this book helpful for beginners like myself. The book clarifies many ofen used medical terms: I also like that it nicely explains for example all 5 membranes in the body. In chapter 3 is decribed etymology of medical terms which makes easier to understand also any other terms that I might come across in the future. With this guide, it's much easier to dive deeper into understanding illness description online and also get more even ground while talking with doctors.

I believe it is important to take responsibility as much as possible for knowing what a doctor is talking about and your options when it comes to your health. This book does a wonderful job breaking down complex terms, questions and the like so you are better prepared for an appointment, as well as issues that come up in life. I truly believe it will help point people in the right direction, such as knowing what questions to ask and how to save money. It is also an excellent book if you write about medical problems as it defines things better than the internet does.

Bought this for my daughter who is considering nursing school. She found this book to be very helpful and is even more excited about her chosen field. She found the section on breaking down medical words by their root word, suffix and prefix to be particularly insightful. Very informative book that breaks down the information so it is easily understood and followed by those new to medical terminology. I would highly recommend this book.

The author did a really good job! It leads you through from terminology of the main general subjects to the specific small details. It's explanations are good and easy to follow and it really gives a feeling that you get to understand the medical staff. Highly recommended for medical students or anyone who is interested in the medical world.

A friend on Facebook told me about this book. My girlfriend is studying to be a nurse so I picked it up to help her out. I made flash cards and then ended up just using my Kindle and this text. It is great if you are a health nut and want to get all of the basics down.

Very basic and vague introduction to medical terminology. I would say, the book is OK for someone who have no knowledge of medicine but not at al useful.
