If a few sheets are loaded in the feeder can it produce separate pdf's one per sheet or will it only combine them all into one pdf?

You can chose in settings. 1 page per PDF or up to 1000

can this scan a long document 15 inches by 6 ?

It should scan the full 15” by feeding the document into the front feeder. I’ve not scanned anything that long but it pulls the document through to the bottom edge & then feeds it back out of the front. In the image it shows a business card feed at the front but this is a full A4 width slot, so the 6” width wouldn’t be a problem.

Does it scan in duplex? (i.e. scan both sides). Also why isn't the Duplex mode clearly stated in the description?

The iX1300 scans duplex and the software can ignore blank pages. Can’t comment on why the description doesn’t explicitly state that.

Is this scanner compatible for air drop with recent macs with m1 chip?

I don't understand the question... the scanner reads the documents and send it directly to a location which can either be over a physical wire or to a cloud location via WiFI.
