MICROBE-LIFT ALGA16 Algaway 5.4 Algae Control Treatment for Ponds and Water Gardens, Safe for Koi Fish, Goldfish, Plants, and Decorations, 16 Ounces

This product is the best!! Before using MICROBE-LIFT ALGA08 Algaway 5.4 my fountain would turn green within a week. It’s been 3 weeks and no green at all. I just cleaned it only to clean dirt and bird poop. Soooo pleased!!!

This product had worked really well in my koi pond. I have a smaller size pond (I believe about 500 gallons) so I prefer to put smaller amounts in but more frequently. I also will do a bit of a water change and drain out like 30 gallons and add fresh water in. Pond stays clear and this is really the only treatment I use.

This was not a surprize as I read the dosing for ponds, 90 gallons and larger. My water feature is a fountain which I found holds 15 gals of water. So I did the math and I needed about .75 ml of this product in my fountain. I got a free medical dosing syringe calibrated in ml, and I add about 1 ml per week. Seems to be working nicely. My fountain is self filling and with SoCal summer coming I think I get a full water change 2 -3 per month.

This stuff made a very noticeable difference in just a few hours. The water in my water garden/pond was like pea soup. Its at least 75% clearer. I have goldfish and minnows with a papyrus and some water hyacinth 🪻 all 9f which were unaffected by this treatment. My pond is roughly 55gal and I used 1 tsp(not tbsp)definitely don't over apply, more doesn't mean better.I highly reccomend this product.

We decided to try this product for the Spring cleaning on the pond in our back yard after this year’s Colorado winter. Followed the directions on the label and within hours it started to clear the algae. By the next day our pond no longer looked like a science experiment. I wish I had taken a before picture, but trust me when I say the rocks below the water line were all green- as well as the rocks on the water fall. The water is so clear now that we even had ducks drop in for a swim.

I purchased this product based its misleading , I believe, description, suggesting that it is safe to use around fish. In fact, I saw fish on the label. Upon receipt and reading all of the precautions regarding its handling, its use and being hazardous to humans, animals, fish and landscaping, I immediately returned it. The Description on this product should clearly state how hazardous it is. Firstly, it is poisonous to both humans animals, birds, and most fish. Not uncommon but not clear in its description. If you handle it, it is recommended you wear both safety glasses and gloves and if you happen to get any on bare skin or clothing that you immediately wash it. You can imagine about getting it in your eyes by mistake.I believe the description is inadequate.Also, when it is shipped, the bottle is inside a plastic bag with a zip tire on it and then you will receive it in either a plastic bag or a box. There are actually no markings on the box regarding its toxicity.If you have a pond in your yard it is likely frequent by birds, butterflies, and possibly your own pets. This Product may make them very ill or possibly kill them. When you read the complete description, it is only recommended to be used with two types of fish. Also it will kill your plants and requires that your pond be aerated.After doing my return, I went through and read some of the reviews and also found that there were many questions about its capability in doing its prescribed main purpose of killing algae.Based on the above, I gave this product a one star rating as I believe it is in accurately advertised and the posts about its effectiveness. If you buy and use this product, please be very careful for yourself, your children, your pets and any other wildlife that might take a drink of water after this is used in your pond or fountain. It states it is also damaging to landscaping so, where are you going to use this product safely.Quite frankly, I cannot think of many uses for it based upon its limitations of killing both plants and animals let alone its general toxicity.

Works on a off and on basis... Have to use like every week

This is an amazing product, we had been battling algae in our koi pond in western Oklahoma with summer heat even having a high output pump and a large water fall for aerating the water. We had tried a few other products and they didn’t get the water clear or just didn’t work at all. We use this stuff after being told it really worked on social media and it is great all the fish are fine after about 26 hrs water is clear and has stayed clear for over 14 days now. Highly recommend this stuff
