Beautiful set. The plates and the bowls are thicker that others I bought and seemed of great quality. It arrived intact and in good time.

Update!!! My toddler put his plate into the sink and it broke. There wasn't anything in the sink for it to hit and it's not a very deep sink. I watched him do it, he didn't even throw it. It hit the bottom of the sink and broke into 3 pieces. I'm wary of the "chip and break proof"- ability of this set. ******** I just got my plate set and I tried not to have my hopes up and was expecting at least one of them to have a flaw or be broken. I am so happy and surprised by how well it was packaged, not one dish was broken or even chipped. I haven't had a chance to use them yet. Hopefully they stand up against my toddler but I am just so happy about the delivery, I was very worried about ordering plates online. The plates have a nice feel to them, they are lightweight and uniform- not warped, marked or anything. Happy so far!!

I strongly believe there are mixed reviews here for DIFFERENT PRODUCTS. The dishes I ordered are the “Gibson Home Modern Opal 16-piece Glass”. They are very lightweight compared to any other materials. They are “Opal Glass” - NOT porcelain. The description says they are “Dishwasher and Microwave Safe” - the stamp on the bottom of each piece says they are NOT Dishwasher OR Microwave Safe. They say “Handwashing Only”, “Not Microwave Safe”, “Freezer Safe”, “Made in China”. There are many reviews saying they break and chip easily where the description says they are “chip resistant, dependable and durable”. Not only are the reviews describing different products, but the description is also mixes product specifications, which include saying that the bowls are curved - mine are not. They are straight-edged. The video does not show the set I ordered. Based on the uncertainty, I will be sending these back as well as a second set I ordered before realizing all of the discrepancies. All reviews should have to list the exact product they are reviewing. It would help eliminate all of the confusion!

Unpacked the dishes and 1 bowl has edge chipped off but I'm not sending the whole order back for 1 bowl. I was going to buy more but I'm not sure I will if they chip that easy.
