I loved the first disc, the 2nd disc could have been better
I wasn't too impressed with what I've heard with the second disc mixed by Tall Paul. It wasn't bad but it wasn't nowhere near the awesomeness of the first disc mixed by Johnny Vicious. The songs lacked the punch that Johnny's mixes had. Now that is said and done, on with my review of the first disc. The second I heard the Dj Tiesto remix of Delerium's "Silence", I knew immediately this cd was going to (be a hit). The production is big, the melodies are excellent. The song structure hasn't been distorted by Johnny's mixing abilities. I liked what I heard. Several minutes later, "Silence" quickly becomes "We Are Alive", my favorite Paul Van Dyk song off his "Out There and Back" cd. I do wish that Johnny used the full vocal mix version of this song but nonetheless I'm happy to hear this song. I was totally surprised to hear a dance version of Duran Duran's "Ordinary World" w/female vocals. That really knocked my socks off. I also loved the trance version of "Here With Me". This first disc in Club Nation America was impressive and made me think of the Saturday nights I spent in Chicago dancing to house and trance music. Just awesome.

One of MOS's better sets
This double CD is one of the best that MOS has put out in quite some time. I would give the edge to the Titan on this one although Johhny Vicious played a remarkable set. Tall Paul's set has some of the best electronic tracks ever; Star 69, Push, Synathesia, and makes this set flow exceptionally well. The last three tracks on CD 2 I can play over and over and over again and still never get sick of it. Johnny Vicious tends to lean more towards more vocal type tracks and thats why I have to give the edge to the Titan on this one. Regardless, this double disk set is definitley one worth buying.

First CD Awesome
I should give this CD 4 stars, since I'm not a fan of the second CD, but because it's tough to find a complete mix cd that you can listen to start to finish, I owe it to Johnny Vicious to give this CD all 5. Disk one is awesome start to finish. Disk two has some popular dance stuff, but I'm more of a trance fan myself. This CD is from the days when Ministry of Sound actually pursued quality rather than quantity. I highly recommend this classic disk.

A Must!
If you like Ministry of Sound, then this CD is a must for your collection. Even if you don't, you will like this. The Groove Terminator CD is excellent. It starts off fast paced and fun, and keeps up the vibe through until the end. There a few favourites in there, and new ones to call your favourites. If you are having a party, put this in your stereo and press play for a night of dancing and fun. The first CD is also good, similar to the usual Ministry of Sound style. Its bit less hyped, but still a good listen nonetheless. A good way to spend your money, and well worth the effort. You can listen to the music at nights out, in the car, or just sitting at home. A veritable treasure trove of music. If this will be your first Ministry purchase, it is a fantastic introduction to the style of music Ministry is famous for, and still keeps it original with the second CD. It was one of the best ideas to incorporate the musical styles of Groove Terminator. Buy it now!

Disc 2 is where it shines
Disc 1, mixed by Johnny Vicious, is the weaker of the two. It starts with three really strong trance songs, then gets into a glut of cheesy, anthemic trance. Seriously, he makes Oakenfold sound like Digweed, "Los Angeles" era...It's mixed extremely well, very smooth transitions. If you're a fan of the genre, it'll be your cup of tea; if not, then it's up to Tall Paul. TP delivers a very diverse mix of trance, house, and breaks. He includes the UNSTOPPABLE "I Wanna Be U" by Chocolate Puma (this track is blowing UP!!!), "Star 69" by Fatboy Slim (which works really well in this set), and others. Tall Paul is the highlight of the album. Overall, it's a great disc, especially if you can find it for under $15. Johnny Vicious may not be right for you, but Tall Paul will seal the deal for ya...

Worth owning, but not fantastic
Ministry of Sound has a long history of producing sold collections of club, dance, and chill music. This album is their club offering for 2001. I'm more of a fan of their "Chilled 1991-2008," collection, but wanted to give this album a try. Basically it is not a bad collection, but most of the tracks are not really that moving. Like others have noted, the first CD is a lot better than the second, but even the first isn't more than 3.5/5 stars. If you're really into club music, or just love Ministry of Sound this might be worth picking up. Otherwise take pass.
