Worthwhile upgrade from a desk mount - quality item
Quality item and very sturdy. Easy to assemble and plenty of mounting options. I was previously using a Fanatec CSL DD via a desk mount and although I thought my desk was pretty sturdy, it was nothing compared to using the wheel via this NLR Wheelstand. There is no sooo much more detail and nuance in the FFB and I find myself catching slides and spins much more easily than I did previously. Having a solid deck for the pedals is also much better and provides much better feeling that you are connected. Via the desk mount I also found FFB would generate noise (creaks from the fanatec desk clamp and also my desk) as well as jiggling my desk and monitor. Now the Wheelstand is no longer connected to desk and therefore monitor, everything feels more stable and quiet when racing. It's also very handy having one unit that all the gear is mounted to in terms of getting ready to race. Previously it took upto 10min to get everything out and connected and in position ready to race. Now setup is a breeze and makes it more likely I'll do some racing. Can't recommend highly enough and it's made much more of an upgrade than I was expecting. Also really good value given the quality I would say.

Solid, low flex, heavy (a good thing)
I'm a 51 year old GP who has enjoyed sim-racing since the original GT on the original PS. I've always had a wheel of some sort to play them, but generally something cost effective as I was a student, and they kept breaking. So I used a Logitech GT Force, and the G25, always on a stand I hacked together from an old desk my GF (now wife) had. IT did the job, but had lots of flex and looked like crap. So, the next level wheel stand? Absolutely fantastic. Initially had it set up with the G25 and it improved the force feedback immeasurably. Then I put a Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel on it, and boy I'm in heaven. Pop the Occulus 3 on, and I can drive stupidly fast on several of the most famous circuits on the planet. It's pretty easy to build, a little fiddly to know how to angle the various plates that need to be angled, and I would suggest you have a good look at your wheel and pedals before hand and decide the best orientation in advance. It's plenty solid enough, I'm using a pretty heavy load-cell break and it only very occasionally moves under pressure when I'm really over-doing it. The gear shifter/handbrake table is a bit rubbish sadly. It's functional enough but you get very few positions you can put it in, and it's uncharacteristically wobbly compared to the rest of the unit. There have been complaints of heaviness. I'm of average build, maybe 70kg, and have no issue moving it from storage position to sofa position, about 2m. I haven't tried folding it away, looks like it would do this quite well but I've got the room not to need to do it fortunately. ABS haptic module on my list for Santa.

Solid Racing Stand!
Absolute solid piece of kit, easy to assemble. NLR do have an instruction video on YouTube which is useful if you can't be bothered to read the instruction manual. Mounted Logitech G923 trueforce no problem, holes in the right places for bolting. Logitech is going back and mounted my Fanatec CSL DD PRO , again straightforward and everything fits. My one issue is the gear shifter arm, this bolts to the left or right down arm but only fits the top down arm that slides up and down in the lower arm, I found that the wheel plate was a tad too high due to not being able to bolt it lower down the down arm, hope that makes sense. Means my arms are holding the steering wheel just a little bit higher than would like but its not a deal breaker. Build quality is great and has the option of adding the seat add-on if you fancy. Bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Happy racing! **UPDATE** Fitted the pc chair wheel tray today and found I was sat way too close to my Fanatec wheel , can't see any way to use the tray and be sat at the right distance to hold the steering wheel. Removed and have added some bell castors to the pc chair to help stop the chair moving when driving.

Easy to assemble with either the paper or video instructions. Very sturdy frame. I mounted the Fanatec CSL DD wheel base and pedals, the frame stays solid and doesn't budge. The chair tray is a great feature. Solid investment for your sim racing, as it is extensible with a fixed racing chair if you ever wanted to. Mind that it's heavy by itself, even heavier with wheel base and pedals mounted. You can fold it, but I can recommend getting some M8x15 wheels with brakes to move it around and save your back. The frame already has the holes provided as it comes with some basic feet in the package.

I was looking for something solid to mount a direct drive wheel base to that I could get slide out of the way and fold up when I need to. All parts of the stand are actually pretty thick pieces of steel. This makes the whole setup VERY heavy (wheel stand, wheel base and rim, pedals, shifter, and, button box). This doesn’t take away from my rating - if you want a lighter wheel stand that is easier to move, you buy one that is made with more lightweight material and that will likely flex more. I use mine on carpet and have carpet sliders under the included wide rubber feet and it is easy enough to slide around. The chair cradle works well and keeps my chair and wheel stand together even with the carpet sliders under the stand. Great adjustability! I like to race and truck and I change my setup when I go between them. For trucking, I move the pedal try a little closer, and I tilt the wheel back. When I race I move the pedal tray a little farther away and tilt the wheel down. Compatibility is great. I have a Fanatec wheel base and heusinkveld sprints and everything mounted with no problems. I do not have the heusinkveld pedal base plate - the pedals are mounted directly to the wheel stand 2.0 pedal plate and I have no issues. When braking very hard, this plate DOES flex slightly, however this flex would probably be eliminated by using the heusinkveld pedal base plate mounted to the wheel stand 2.0 pedal plate. There are a couple small things I wish were different - I wish they shipped smooth plastic feet with the stand so you could slide it easier on carpet so that I didn’t have to use other carpet sliders that aren’t secured to the stand, I wish you could tilt the wheel back slightly more, and I’m not the biggest fan of the shifter mount. I’m not sure how they could improve it, but when using it, the shifter isn’t in the most natural feeling position (I have two pieces of 8020 aluminum secured together at a right angle and clamped to the mount and my shifter is mounted to the 8020, placing the shifter in a lower, more natural position - it’s less stiff but in VR you don’t notice and it works great). This design could be improved SLIGHTLY but for the price, this is a no brainer. I had previously been using a wheel mounted to my desk and the difference is night and day. I gave this 5 stars instead of 4 because of the quality, and the issues I had were so minor they either don’t really matter, or you can work around them. Great stand for a good price! Would recommend to anyone looking for a STURDY wheel stand!
