612 Vermont 2.5V Clear Mini Christmas Replacement Bulbs for Christmas Trees and Incandescent String Lights, Pinched Base, 100 Count (0.42 Watt, 170 mA)

These replacement bulbs were perfect for my Christmas tree, had to order a few different kinds before I found one that worked.

I have a prelit tree (10ft) that is 19 years old now. Along with a lightkeeper pro I’ve gotten really good at fixing the lights. The tree uses 2.5 volt bulbs at 170ma. Each individual strand has 50 bulbs. The light intensity is an exact match. You have to know the voltage, wattage (or amp rating) and bulb count per strand to get these right. If you don’t match this you will have too bright or too dim and you also risk blowing the entire strand with too much current. These have a pinched bottom, all my previous bulbs were rounded but these still fit my bases really well. I will update review if anything changes. Just ordered 4 more to stock up.

These worked great. I would advise you to look at the tag on your current lights before ordering to get the right replacement bulb. I did at first think the weren’t working as I replaced lights on a pre-lit tree. However, while they weren’t “single” threaded if more than one light was burnt out in a section you may have to replace more than one to get it to work again. I came up with my own hack. I took a white piece of paper and a flashlight. I held up the white paper behind to bulbs and then used the flashlight to shine on it. If the bulb was burnt out it had a black spot which you could see better with the white paper behind it. I replaced the burnt out bulbs in that section and once you had enough replaced the whole section would light (but the bulb you just replaced might not if others were burnt out). I saw some people say the replacements didn’t work. This may have been why - either other bulbs were burnt out and needed replaced before it would light or they had the wrong replacement - didn’t look at the tag on the light strand). Hopefully that helps you if you are like me and had several burn out.

Great for fixing prelit tree. These work great. They are a pain to change out, but better than trying to remove and replace strands on a prelit tree. I would not use these on outdoor lights, just throw away and buy new strand. But for a prelit yes. Matching the bulb type on the tag is very important. Also important to replace bulbs as soon as you see them burnt out. Otherwise eventually the resistance in the strand will drop and the energy going to the remaining bulbs will cause them to burn very bright until the whole strand goes out , like 20-30 bulbs at once. At that point you will need to replace all the obvious discolored bulbs and then get a light keeper to force it to light up so you can see which bulbs are still bad replace those and you are good. Oh and buy more than you think you need. I just ordered my third box of 100.

I wanted to replace a large number of warm white bulbs on my pre-lit Christmas tree. After looking in all the local hardware and department store found none compatible with the bulb sockets.
